I went on baby name websites and searched up the meaning of their element or a certain category that would fit them. Any language! For example, I named my fire knuffel Keahi, which is Hawaiian for "the fire."

Or I just pick the name that seems to fit. For example, I named my summer knuffel 2012 (water) Amirah, which is Arabic for "princess."

Most of mine are named after characters from a fantasy novel I've been working on on and off... the characters have elemental powers, so I named my Knuffel after the elements. My two wild knuffels have kind of random names. And I named the summer knuffel "sakana", which is Japanese for "fish". I have no idea if she'll end up fishlike or not XD

Now that I have knuffel...

My first one is "Prima" ("First" in Italian)

The second one is "Ni" ("Two" in Japanese)

The third one is "Trana" ("Three" in Gujarati)

The fourth is "Vier" ("Four" in German)

The fifth is "Cinco" ("Five" in Spanish)

I just bought my first Knuffel and name it Summer since it's the summer one.

My husband chose Kerfuffel because kerfuffel the knuffel sounds funny.

I chose Aya because I seem to remember someone telling me it meant beautiful silk or something like that.

I named my wild knuffels after their creators.

What I do is I search name meanings. For example, if it's a water element, I search for names meaning "water" or "sea" or "wave" or "river" or like that.

Usually, it's something about their element or anything that comes to me or what may have happened when I was buying/naming it.
For example, my sis named it June.

I love naming my knuffels. To me it is very easy because I write creative names daily to fit character's for stories I write. Some of them have meanings and other ones don't but I want them to stand out and be a one of a kind. Sometimes I think of how I am feeling or a random couple of words and then look them up in another language other than english and tada. Like if I bought a knuffel that was fire and had flame hair I would think two random words that pop up like lost and resistance. go search them up in...sweedish with the result Förlorade resistans. I don't really like the ending so I would probably name my knuffel Förlorade.

I usually go to a baby names website and pick something that has a meaning related to the Knuffel's theme. ^^ I also like Elvish names, so I Google for a list of those with their meanings.

Lastly, 400 fishies after posting this! Time to go shopping~ And back to lurking, until the next event forces me out of hiding. XD;
