Watashi no namae wa CharstarWishes desu.
Experience:Beginner
I want to learn Japanese because I tookJapanese 101 in College.
I am still a beginner cause we only covered the first three chapters in the book.
I know my Hiragana alphabet pronunciations in the chart.
I could help there if needed, I'll really need to relearn the symbols again.
I really like to keep what I have learned in my brain so that's why I want to take this class. I will forget if I don't keep using it,

OMG I love the song! :qstar:

Watashi no namae wa Hikarisoul16 (Tori/Hikari) desu.
Experience: *currently learning language in school*, knows Hiragana, some Kanji, some katakana
I want to learn Japanese because I want to visit the country some day. My dad also says that it's because of manga/anime. XD But when I sing the Japanese songs, I want to know what I'm singing too.

Just wanted to know 'cause my dad's been buggin me about it but... when you end a sentence in -desuyo, what's that supposed to signify? (Like I know -desuka is a question etc.)

Sumimasen, Ayame-sensei? It's actually "Konnichiwa." >.>" *hides in corner*

Goodness Gracious! O.O
Hajimemashite, all my new little gakuseis! x3 (sorry for calling you 'little' u.u;;)

I'll request to call you all by nicknames cos I'm too lazy to type out whole names. >.>;;

Deirdre: I always wonder why boys had boku and we had nothing. Now I see we do.

Mikael: You're not going to call me sensei, but you're going to call Deirdre sempai? T_T

No one has to call me sensei, but they do have to respect me. I'll just call you Mikael (I used to call you Mikael Hart-sama but I got tired of typing it out. OTL

It would be cool if we had an onigiri as our mascot. :qc:

CharstarWishes: Can I call you Wish-chan?

Rikuchan: Your name is perfect! :qo: But may I call you Riku-chan? xD

Hikarisoul16: Can I call you Hikari-chan? Sorry, I dont know about 'desuyo' but I'll be happy to look it up for you. x3 Also, desu ka is two words. In my book, it has it as konnichi wa and konban wa, so I think having it as one word is just what us foreigners do.

However, if anyone finds any spelling errors, please point them out. >.>;;

Ok, so for this first week we will kind of go through the basics, because I dont know all of your guys' levels of knowledge. So, bear with me all you experts (like Mikael; I like how you put boku, and you changed your name). <.<;

What I would like is some feedback (and be nice about it) on if you knew it, kind of knew it, or if it was new for you.

Also, tell me if you want more information, less information, or if it was just right. Please be specific about what section you're talking about.

Listen to the Hiragana Chart Song (Located in Gakusei Resources on this first page) while looking at (and, if necessary, reading off of) the chart. Your assignment is to memorize the song (so that you can sing it from memory) within two weeks (minus one day).

Japanese doesnt have letters, it has sounds. Sounds are comprised of a noun, or a consonant and then a noun. There are no sounds where a consonant is preceded by a noun. There are no sounds without vowels, except n. This is not pronouned 'en' like in the arabic alphabet. It is pronounced 'nn'.

Would you like us to write the weekly sentence down? (like here or in notes?)

I`ll be a little slow on adding suffixes because I tend to be shy on the net =.=
