I'm not saying it's not a reason to be concerned, only that maybe it's too late/ not something we can stop *shrugs* Again, something we really don't understand that much about.

If we do not radically change our behavior, the effects of climate change will be more severe. According to the science, there is still time to take steps that would limit the damage, but that is only possible if the United States (as one of the greatest emitters of greenhouse gases) takes strong steps to curtail carbon emissions. The fate of the entire world literally depends on this. Giving up isn't an option, not if we want to continue as a species for more than the next 100 years (at which point, according to current models, large parts of the Earth will become inhospitable to human life).

And lots of us DO understand a lot about climate change. It's not a new science or anything. The basics are pretty simple.

China produces almost double what we do. If we dropped our emissions to zero, they'd still be producing enough for all of us. XD

That's not a reason we shouldn't do our part. And China is actually making progress on meeting their climate agreement goals and reducing pollution. Slow, and hobbled by corruption, but any progress is an improvement.

Also, those numbers don't quite add up. Here's some data: http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/sc ... f-co2.html

There was a Mosque burned down in my state.
I don't know if it was accidental or arson, but pretty sure it was intentional.
And yet, the person who inspired this terrorism, sits in a comfy chair in a safe room.
Sure he didn't specifically say "Burn it down!" but he sure as hell is what caused all of this.
>_>

The sheer stupidity and major injustice going on, is driving me nuts.
I don't like those people, so I can go spray paint their whole house with insults and not get in trouble \8u/
NO. That's a CRIME.
You face charges for CRIMES.

God Moi I'm sorry to hear that. I'm hoping it's accidental. Because if it was intentional... then that means things are worse than they already are and that is sad as hell. Since people who are citizens are being detained just because they came from banned countries. Ugh this is going to crap. But at least some of the people who voted for 45, some not all; are realizing what they did and helped. So that is at least good for the time being.

Now to hope some justice of some form is given for that is going on right now with the blatant racism that is occurring and passing with this new crap he's signing in.

It is really sad that that happened and that sort of thing is never acceptable. But making assumptions outside of people investigations is bad too. Remember that predominantly black church that had anti-black threats written outside of it? Turned out to be a black guy. Remember that Republican polling office that was burned down during the presidential race? Everyone jumped immediately on the democrats spreading fear mongering ideals and hatred.
Assuming things is one of the worst things that the people in our country (including the media) can do.

saiyouri: Yeah, the people were so upset, saying it was a place of worship and how they had had dinner there the night before.
My bestie shared it on Facebook, and I started to read it.
It said "Follow Texans" and I was like "FUCK UB<"
I've lived in Texas my whole life, and I've met and seen all kinds of people here.
And it irritates me when people in Texas, do racist things, and then people are like "Fuck Texas! Fuck everyone in Texas!"
Like EXCUSE MEEEE :U

Eva: I know that. I've seen all kinds of that stuff on the news channels I watch.
I prefer to wait and see, but with all the bullshit that's going on in my state, I don't doubt it being intentional.
There was a huge explosion years ago that occurred when someone intentionally started a fire, led to the explosion, killed people.
So I have a hard time seeing something like this, and thinking it was an accident.
So I do think it was intentional, but I don't doubt that it was accidental.
I just have to wait and see. Like everyone else.
I'm sorry if I seemed like I was raving about it being 100% intentional.
xD

God that is sad. I know it must be hard seeing that stuff about Texas. There seems to be alot that comes from there and other places (certain states). Sad how a place gets judged by a group of people. At least I don't think that of Texas. Happy I don't. A good actor Jensen Ackles lives there and saying that all Texans are the same would be degrading someone with a good heart. And some people just don't seem to realize that. Sadly they should and I wished people would think of the others that might be there and are good people.

I watched a video today of the Mayor of Houston going to the airport to try to help get people out of detention. Local leaders stepping up all over the country. I joined a bunch of synagogue groups to go to a nearby international airport today. They don't have anyone detained there right now but it was important for groups to show up and make our voices heard. It was really beautiful.

Banning refugees on International Holocaust Remembrance Day was pretty much designed to infuriate American Jews as much as is physically possible. It just adds insult to the horror.
