and deciding what to make for meals every single time, that too is something I can only dream of till I get my own place. as well as decorating the entire place to my tastes and not just my bedroom!

Having your own place is definitely an important step into adulting :)
And it has a lot of perks, as you already mentioned, even though it's also sometimes hard.
Your apartment market sounds so good, we were searching for ages until we finally got our flat because there are so few available and then the owners usually picked other people over us.

There's no telling if the owner is considering other people, she's on vacation currently so there's no telling we'll get good news when she's back.

Maybe we'll also be passed over for people who are actually in a relationship or who can both show a long work record etc

no telling yet so I prefer not to think about that for now c';

but better than before. it always helps to know where you're going. trying to do as much as I can by the end of October because I'm taking up an assistant job at the uni since then and it'll knock me out for another day of the week. but "as much as I can" is zero to three hours a day, mostly.
