I have no idea what exactly you want with that dot, but I use a way different program than you probably do so it doesn't even work for me, I've got my own ways. There are smart guides, yes, but they don't work that way. I don't use layers, I use objects. I use boxes to see if everything's in place but I'm either too lazy or I hit a button one time too much so things end up like this. But unless you view them stage after stage it's no biggie.
I'll just enter it like this.
My screen is just dirty as crap since my bird keeps taking a dump on it and things like that, so most dots aren't on the file itself. Guess this one was. :')

Ops! Forgot you don't use an art program like GIMP or photoshop. 
The dot would be used to help place the hair in the proper location so that it doesn't look like its moving. And layers are very nifty, if you screw something up with the image/design it will only affect that layer and not the rest of the image. XD

That sounds way too complicated. I mean just copy the hair layer. You don't need to save it extra and all? o.O
Btw when you talked about your wiger I had to think of liger. Thought that might be the same until you mentioned blade tails xD

Sorry about that cyan, GIMP doesn't always open things where they are supposed to go (its done that to me before) so I take the extra step to make sure its in the correct location. XD And I know what you mean about it reminding you of a liger, just instead of faint stripes they are dark like they would be for a normal tiger. XD Ligers are what actually gave me the idea for the creature. XD Also, they are sentient beings like dragons, they just use telepathy to communicate. XD

Hm, ML, are you aware of my being a graphic designer and all? I'm supposed to use Photoshop for a living. ^_^;;
I know very well how layers work and what they're for, but in Illustrator I just don't use them, because I work with objects. You can edit them separately without fucking up anything else. As with layers.
I don't use Photoshop for drawing because I can't draw. But I can illustrate with vector well enough. I use Illustrator by choice, not because I don't know any better. And personally I think that 4 years of lecture on Photoshop among other programs is quite enough. ^_^;;
Muh, rejected because the stages are too similar. >>

Yes, sorry Merry, I do keep forgetting that. I'm just so used to other people who do art always using Photoshop for everything, so that's the first program that comes to my mind. And with you saying you don't use that program, I automatically think you are using something completely foreign to me. I tend to explain even obvious things, so don't mind me.
