unfortunately most use that excuse or call it a compliment and most platforms do little to nothing
for artists who get theur work stolen.
the only thing they can do is mass report or file a DMCA to take the whole account down.
but even then they can just make a new account.
most artists i follow constantly battle this and there isnt a way around it.
but even with this risk i still enjoy posting my work.
despite its not very good lol
but 2022 im devoting it to fundamental studies and promoting my work for commissions.

It'd be nice if it was easy to get them to not put it up again and sue if they do it again.
I had someone make art of an OC of mine and give it to me.
I used it as my profile picture for a bit.
I later saw someone else using the same art >_>
So I messaged them and my friend who was friends with them messaged them too and they took it down.
You gotta slap a big old ugly watermark on it xD

Not many people want to sue and want this all out battle with it.
Many have had to do that with companies who rip off their designs and sell
them.
Reposters and anyone using art without permission is just annoying.
Some genuinely do not know.
and others know but could care less.
Unfortunately even putting a huge watermark does little to nothing.
Especially with the latest of NFTs where people's work gets stolen, and
there is absolutely...nothing artists can do and some even deleted art accounts
because of it.

I'm suing everyone \8u/
Might even fake an injury to add to it >8u
Yeah, I've heard about NFTs.
I've heard people say they're a waste of money and all that.
I don't care about them unless someone is getting their art stolen...

lol. i probably would at most trademark my art name.
but beyond that I'd be too scared to take it to court lol
they are super waste of money.
and pretty much everyone is getting their work stolen
just so these people can profit off art that does not belong to them.

Trademarking sounds difficult. I'm sure there's always someone out there with the same username as me...
My game I play was having a controversy with NFTs.
I still don't fully understand the situation, but people were so angry.
I knew what NFTs were I just didn't understand...what was going on.
Something about an in-game model of a horror character...
The game company denied they had anything to do with it but people were still upset.

anything in court seems hard to me lol.
i rather avoid it all together.
many artists i used to like do nfts so i just had
to stop following them as i do not support any kind of nft.

Copyright infringement is an interesting topic.
You know, there's stuff people do where it's considered fair use but still people file against them.
If you like...make fanart - it falls under fair use because while it's not your anime/manga/book/movie/tv series - the art is yours. So it's fair use because you're adding to something by using your own stuff.
Filming yourself while playing a game falls under fair use because it's commentary - you're not just uploading the game by itself.
I don't think I know any artists that do NFTs 8u

copyright can be such a tricky topic at times.
i make a bit of it. tho i have no idea how i'd feel if someone started using it
without permission
even tho it's fanart.
unfortunately a lot of people will suddenly be into NFT's. even if they weren't before unless they have vocalized they would never do it ever.
like for months some artists i followed weren't and then suddenly they were.
I do not support them because essentially their scams and ruin the environment
but the environment argument never works because people use cars and apparently...that's worse...even tho cars are necessary in some places...owning a link of some sort to art which is a luxury isn't...and they argue "well im supporting this artist" by buying the nft...you can also commission someone, and own a physical print...but to me nfts are overall...pointless.

I'd love for people to draw my characters.
I mean as long as they don't say "Hey, this character belongs to me!"
No, it doesn't >Bu
I LOVE making fanart of actual stuff but also peoples' OCs if I like their design.
I'm a sucker for amazing character designs.
I just don't understand how you can fully own something that's already on the internet...
Like if the artist posts an NFT they made and someone bought it - it's still for everyone to see and take ._.
Once you post it, it's there forever.
People can take it and edit out the watermark if they really want to.
It's like renting a movie - it's in your possession but it's not yours.
