I have never read the book, so I don't know if the movie was much different, but I thought it was very depressing.

I finished it and now that I consider it... It is indeed very depressing... But I like how they depicted the 20ies and Gatsby's mansion, all so glamorous...

I finished Perfect. I thought it was just ok. That's the third book I have read by that author, and I thought they were all just ok, so I am done with her!

I also read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. That was pretty good.

I just started The Orphan's Tale.

I understand why you want to stop reading books by that author :D

The other two sound very good!

I am still reading Shining by Stephen King.. Like a real book by him it is progressing pretty slow, I am at page 100+ and the family is still only entering the hotel.... Soooo slow.

lol! So many people love Stephen King, but I have never liked any of us his stuff. I usually like the beginning, but then it all goes downhill for me after that, and I usually really hate the ending! I love the Shawshank Redemption movie though!

I love your avi!

Really? I usually dislike the first third of the book because the progress is too slow for my taste :D

Thank you!

Oh, that's funny! I have read more of his short stories than full books, so that could be why I liked the beginnings, most of the ones I read were probably much faster!

Haha, that's probably it!

I am at about 200 pages now and indeed, it is getting more interesting now :3 I know the movie though, but it's always different to read the book. And as my brain is like swiss cheese I forgot many things anyway, mostly movie story lines :qhehe:
