Sounds like an old Egypt kind of things, maybe you gotta build a pyramid and be buried with all your stuff xD

No, seriously, if only conciusness remained... why would it be tied to a rotting body which will eventually cease to exist? Why would it be locked into some room or in the ground?
If it's got no corporeal existence, then it should be impossible to lock, shouldn't it?

I guess they don't really believe.
They just have an interest in the topic, and they see the profit (attention/money).
You don't even have to go that far, there are plenty of people who say they are religions but at the end of the day behave in the most inmoral ways - not following their own commandments. Why do they do that? I guess they like the idea of joining that community, but they are actually faking their beliefs.

Lol, I don't believe a lot, but ghosts, dunno. I love the idea the Hindu's have (if I'm not mistaken) that there's another life. I don't think you can take your stuff, but I'd love to be a cat.

Dunno if it's true and I don't live to that belief, rather make the most of this one, but I kinda believe now that everyone's gone.

My friends, I mentioned earlier who lost their young son, felt a lot better after talking with someone, quickly after the accident who made contact with their son's spirit. According to that lady spirits stay around for about 3 days and she told them stuff about their son nobody could have known. That stuff really is odd, but it felt very good for the parent's, so in that case, I'm really happy for them. :)

I also believe in my grannies candles. She always lights candles for us and the thought is so nice, it often helps. I also take my St Christopher medal always with me (it's a keychain) whereever I go. Aaand today I did ask St Anthony to help me find my keys (gran tends to do that, she always says he's way too busy to find her her things), but I did find them immediately afterwards. Like, those things are probably stupid coincedents, but anywaysss....

I do like USA/ Roman empire comparison. As for many changes, I think yes. When people decided to stop taking part in wars all the time, those 100 years before WW1 a lot did change... Maybe you're right, not as fast as now, but still. I sometimes wonder where we would've been now if there'd been less wars, 'cause in medieval times everyone kinda forgot what the Romans invented. always feel like that period is a huge setback, maybe we're going in that direction as well right now. Everyone a phone in their hand, much smarter than they are... :mccool:

Spirits staying for only a time would make some sort of sense. Like it takes a while for them to actually detach from the material world.
Or even that we - the living - simply find it harder and harder to notice them, cause they are not physical anymore.

As I said, I'm not much of a believer. But it's not impossible.
And many of those things make us feel better, like those rituals from your grandma or having a mass for our deceased ones. There is something inherently warming about that sort of traditions, that why we keep doing them.
It's not about "true or false", it's just "feels good, let's do it".

Big empires all tend to collapse the same way, I guess.
Because we don't pay nearly enough attention to our history, and that's were it leads us.
History as a school subjects may be boring (I did not like it as a student) but it's important to have it in mind and be able to reflect upon it.

I want to believe in Reincarnation. There's been people who have claimed to have lived a previous life. They have knowledge of things they shouldn't. BUT I kind of find it hard to believe them because I don't know them. How do I know they're not lying to me? I don't \8u/
Besides, heaven kinda sounds boring. I don't think I'd get to enjoy all the stuff I like so I'd like to be reincarnated plz \8u/

I found this manga years ago that revolved around dying and I found it really interesting.
Izuko is a beautiful and mysterious gatekeeper to the afterlife. Known as the Guardian of the Gate, Izuko guides spirits of the recently departed on their journey...sometimes to Heaven, other times to Hell. The decision is theirs and it is not always an easy one. Often the spirit is the victim of a murder or other untimely death. In such case, a soul is offered three options: 1) accept their death as it is and proceed into Heaven to await reincarnation.
2) Wander the Earth as a ghost.
3) Take justice into their own hands and face the gates of Hell.

I like that concept and it'd be neat if that was real \8u/

It makes for a great plot.
But I would hope that if there is a heaven and hell, we are not giving the option to revenge. It sounds like a last mistep that changes your eternal life into something terrible.

If we are given an option, I'd rather hope it's the other way round!

Izuko tries to steer people towards going to heaven and a lot of them listen to her. Some don't, though.
One thing that bugged me was that if you accidentally kill someone - you're just destined for Hell.
Doesn't matter what reason, all killing is equal.
Reminds me of when people say "All sin is equal \8u/" but to me it's not.
Like people say being gay is equal to murdering someone.
And that's so absurd to me.
Side note, I don't believe being gay is a sin but a lot of people do.
I know Astrology was discussed earlier and as I said - I'm a Libra - I hold balance and fairness and justice very high and being gay =/= murder Bu

I agree, not all sins are equal.

Even within the same "sin" there are differences.
I think it's not the same doing something on purpose or mindlessly.
I think it's not the same doing something once or repeteadly.

I don't know how to put it, punching someone is the face is wrong.
But getting super angry and losing control once and punching this one person's face, that's not the same as punching everybody just because you feel like doing it.

I think seeing gay people as sinful is just one outdated mindset.
Sometimes religions take quite too long to accept the world has changed.

In my experience, people like to pick and choose stuff.
They also don't act like Christians.
That's not me saying all people are like that - just the people I've seen that do it Bu

I'm of the mindset that if someone does something that doesn't hurt them or others - they can do it.
I might find what they're doing weird or I won't understand it but if it's doing no harm to anyone then it's okay with me \8u/

Completely agree.
I think for the first time, I agree to each and every of the words you've said.
That's exactly my point always.
Does it harm anyone? No? Then who are we to judge?

Some people are gay. Some people like eating pickles with mustard.
Those are not my choices, but that does not mean it's wrong for others to choose them.

I feel that since I'm someone who loves anime and manga - I of all people have no right to judge others for what they like if it does no harm xD
