I ended up turning in my Bingo card yesterday. I got a raffle ticket for each book, and I got a candle for the Bingo.

I did actually pick back up the book I was reading on my phone!
Thank you for the encouragement, heh. <:

@San
I've done bingo for reading, but only ever for fun.
My friend and I both printed out some bingo cards and kind of competed against each other.
(She won.)
Is yours part of an event with your library? o:

      Well done, Fran!
      I should try bingo, too, maybe this will keep me motivated. Or I should set myself an aim, like 12 days for a book or sth.
      I really thought 25 books in a year is nothing, but it is difficult... But I already read so many books for my thesis, so I count that as a win for me :D

      Yeah, it was through my library. And it was actually kind of tough. The Bingo spots were things like, "Read a book with a one word title," and "Read a book with food in the title," and "Read a book published the year you were born," and "Read a book published this year." And they had to be adult books.

      @Julez
      I really enjoyed it when I did it for myself!
      It was kind of fun to mark things off when I completed a story.
      Although .. I was in school when I did it, and they had me reading novels
      for my literary classes all the time, haha.
      Twenty-five is a big number, but you can do it! (:

      @San
      That's so cool! It does sound kind of tough though.
      But I think those spaces being so specific kind of forces you to step out of your comfort zone.
      Might pick up a book you wouldn't have noticed before!
      It helps that there's prizes for the bingo card, heh.

      I should see if my local library does anything like that.

          I am only using the uni library and we do not have sth like this. But it sounds challenging, but food! And like Fran said, it lures you out of your comfort zone and encourages to try sth you probably would't without the bingo :)

          I'm trying to finish my thesis as fast as possible, I hope I can read about at least 5 books this year after it. Rather 10...

          Do you have any criteria for what kind of books you read?
          One of my books for this year was a poetry book.
          Finished it in half an hour but I still considered it a 'book' for the reading challenge.

              Of course that counts ^.^
              Which book was it? I also bought a poetry book I wanted to read, it is called Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. I bought it for an American Studies class, but somehow we had no time to read this one.

              I love Fantastic Literature :) I've recently bought the Percy Jackson books which I desire for ages, so I guess I will read those first (English version). Then I still have to finish the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. And I started to read The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald. I started reading a book about American History, written in the perspectives of the indigenous people and not the colonizers, which was very interesting, but loaden with very detailed information. So actually they are all written in English. So I guess I should read sth rather "relaxing" in German. But now I just realized I do not have many German books left.. Oh I remember I started reading "Shining" by Stephen King in German. So that's the plan. And those are 10+ books xD

              You set your own criteria. So if you want to count something, then count it. :mccute:

              I count manga, YA books, and some JUV books. I don't count magazines or really little kids books. But other people are certainly welcome to if they want to. Those are just my preferences for my goal. :mccute:
