But you do use it, or is it only for collecting purposes?

I dunno, when I collect it's always stuff that has no other purpose, it's cute or whatever, but I'm not planning to actually do anything with it xD

I do use it! I love makeup :) and when I use it all up or it expires I clean up the case and put it on display!

I love the special editions and holiday cases because of the cool designs they have for sure!

LOL but there are some that are EXTREME colors that I will never wear so those I just put up right away haha (like bright purple lipstick or neon orange eyeshadow)

Oh, I see, I've known people to do that with beer bottles.
You know, buy at least one of everything so they could have a big collection on display. Empty bottles, of course, they drank everything first :mclaugh:

My collections have always been quite more useless XD

Oh yea! I know people like that too :mchappy: They also sometimes fill it with water and put lights behind them so it looks very nice! Usually for their at home bar or a display shelf!

What do you like collecting? I feel like as long as it makes you happy its not useless :)

I'm trying not to collect anything anymore. I end up just hoarding.

I used to collect calendars. And scented paper.
Then I hoarded manga-related merchandise, anything would go, I even have stuff from series I never read just because the items themselves were cute.
I had several collections of trading cards.
I think many of my Japanese manga are part of my hoarding issues.

I wish I would really love my stuff in that way, that made me happy, that I would proudly display it.
But most of the time it's just hoarding and pushing it into a drawer. :qoops:

Plants, hundreds of plants. They don't look as great this time of year or I would post pictures.

Makeup as well

I seem to have a new collection of corn husk dolls.

Not deliberate, really, but on one of the craft nights someone brought a few packets of the corn husks used to make tamales, and taught us all how to make them, and several people left theirs here.
Then next craft night, someone else brought their own doll version because apparently they were feeling competitive and wanted to learn how to make a fancier doll, and was using this to show it off, and they left it here too.

And then over the months I was gifted a few, because the dolls were all sitting on top of the piano arranged around the metronome like they were weird cult figures worshipping time, and now it's gotten a little out of hand.

I'm thinking of declaring them all Aztecs who are about to sacrifice each other, and cutting down their number. :P

I tried pawning them off to the neighbor's kids but neither of them were interested.

Maybe I can just take them on a hike with me when dry season starts and tuck them into bushes around the trail, see if any of the kids come along after, spot them, and take them.

(And if it's a curious dog that runs off with them instead, I won't know!)

I want to buy or trade for these knuffels:
Earth Gen 18, Light Gen 19, Fire Gen 21, Air/Light/Water Gen 22, Light Gen 23, Earth/Light Gen 25, Darkness Gen 26.
Please PM me if you can help!

I'd love an update on this! Did you decide to keep them, or did you send them off on adventures? There's something special about getting a collection of dolls that you didn't set out seeking for :sflw:

They're all gone now!
If you head into town from my place, there are a surprisingly large number of those "Little Free Libraries" around, and I gradually put them into those, one by one, over time.

And they all disappeared, so someone or several someones ended up adopting them.

I have no idea what further adventures they went on after that, but I assume they are many and varied. :)

Putting them in Little Free Libraries was such an adorable idea! I love that they're all adopted now :mclove:

Speaking of libraries, that reminds me, do you have a Goodreads or Storygraph? I remember you telling me that you read a lot of older books, especially hopeful young adult ones, and I'm trying to find more of those. My reading habits and tastes have changed a lot to better support my mental health.
