If you already opened the 10th window and claimed the item on the 1st, then you cannot open it again. Otherwise it should work fine.

I remember claiming the one with the background but I don't see it in my inventory. I was excited to use it but to busy to make the avatar.

Edit: I checked the event chat page and yeah that was yesterday's item. I remember collecting it but I was on my phone. I'm not sure if maybe the connection farted and it showed I got it but didn't register? The data in that area is kind of spotty. I do remember collecting yesterday though. I remember being excited over how pretty it was and wanting to make an avatar but I was visiting family and didn't have time to mess with it.
