Have you ever read the Lord of the Rings? This whole election kinda reminds me of the Scouring of the Shire, when the hobbits get back to the Shire only to discover that Sauraman has taken it over. The whole chapter is oddly relevant to the events of the last few months.

Not yet, it's on my to do list. As soon as I get a chair to comfortably sit in and relax while I read. And I really can't wait to read it now. Sounds rather interesting how something we are dealing with is comparable to something in a book.

Best I can tell, he says a lot of words and says nothing in at least 99% of it

I saw something about Bernie getting an honorary position in the army or somewhere so he can be called Colonel Sanders and about 75% of trump supporters would vote for him
Imagine if that were happen

I am also literally afraid of what Trump would do if elected. As someone else pointed out, he can't do a lot of the things he wants to do without congress, but he could very well have their support if people don't vote out all of the republicans in office now.

It's terrifying.

I agree with you YourMajesty. It is truly terrifying. I have no idea how we can get those republicans out of congress now. Wished my school taught me that part. I stay away from the news due to how bad they state things without saying what is really going on and what truly matters to be told to people.

That is rather a funny tip of info Lia. Never knew that part. haha kinda funny though.

I truly hope we can get this fixed by November but I have no idea if there is enough people out there willing to do that. I just have to hope for the best.

I honestly thought Trump was a joke candidate! It's scary, and says nothing good for our country, that he's made it this far. I honestly don't like a single presidential candidate left in the race. Neither party offers any reasonable options. they are just cookie cutters from election to election with slight gimmicky changes. The rich jerk, the religious nut, the woman, the man of another ethnicity. They do it because they know people will fall for it instead of focusing on real issues.

Most of the time I'd totally agree with you, but I feel like the sheer craziness of this election has put all other elections to shame. I mean, we've reached a point where the political class isn't even sure there will be a Republican Party after November--and while the rise of populism on the left has been far more discreet, odds are it's equally transformative.

First of all, I am not American, and I do not live in America either, so some of what I am going to say, may be irrelevant, so please don't get mad at me.

I cannot stand Trump for various reasons, but most of all because I cannot see him other than a man capable of nothing. They associate Trump with success in business, but 85% of his business ideas, or businesses in general have proved to be a fluke, so I cannot in the least consider him a capable businessman.

But, I can completely understand where the love for him is coming from.

1. A lot of native Americans think that anyone who has come to the US to steal their jobs should not be allowed. They are fed up with the crisis, and they associate this crisis with migrants. At the same time, they are also fed up of listening to politicians tell them that this is not the case, so having found someone who vents the anger at the same place as them, they find him as the person who will bring them justice and will help them get out of the crisis.

2. Generally speaking, people are not all well informed of what is happening or how things happen unless they have had things happen to them. Sometimes people also have their own ideas of how things happen or should happen, they have their own priorities, and as such they follow the flow that they think it's how things should happen. Like as an example, people don't know that they are the ones that pay money for building gigantic stadiums for their home teams through taxes and gather in crowds to protest if the major does not want to deepen the taxes. Even if they know, they choose to still burden themselves because they are fanatics who think that their team will bring them happiness. I guess you can say watching their team play is a way to get out of the reality of the bills they have to pay, or kids they have waiting at home.

3. Trump is not a politician, but he knows well about propaganda. His wife knows better than him. Remember that were people who would give their life for Hitler. Same principles apply here.

4. People are just fed up.

5. People want someone who did not get money through politics, because they are fed up of politicians, and all the bad things happening while nothing is being done for them.

There might be more reasons and examples, but those are the few that I manage to process at least.

@Dragon, you are more aware of what is going on than most Americans are and that is truly sad. But I am glad you are. Thank you for your post.

You are correct on #1. Alot of people complain about the jobs but the thing is, is that alot of the people complaining are the ones who are not willing to do those jobs that migrants are taking. They refuse to work or just complain while they are not working hard for their things and see this other person doing everything else that they should actually be doing. In some cases yes migrants are not doing good, like paying taxes or whatever. But some are doing good and doing the right thing. And they are getting away from the bad for themselves and their families and alot of Americans don't see that or don't want to see that. Either way it's rather sick to be honest.

I am going to be a housewife soon and I have never had an issue with migrants working here or coming to this country. There are too many issues with this country and none of them are being fixed by the people in power but in some places no one really does much until things get to the point it's really bad (i.e. North Carolina that should not be spoken of >.>).

With your comment about Trump and his businesses, HAHA Thank you so much for saying that!!! Truly thank you. Not many people are even aware of that little bit of info at all. OR maybe don't even care at all. Either way, that is not the way to think of a damn candiate to run this country. A business man is not the way to think. But who would even consider thinking what is right and what isn't. Not many do or even care.

I still need to talk more to the fiance about him voting this year for the first time ever. I'm hoping he will look into the candiates more on his own and choose what he feels is right (he hates and is totally against Trump). I still need to register as a resident of Ohio to vote, but I got time at least. Just moved here a month ago so I still have sometime at least to do that one important thing. That will and must be done. Everyone needs to vote, but sadly not many do. I just hope this time round people will vote considering the hell of a circus we have going on.

Too bad we don't have more decent candiates instead of most crap every election.
