can I bat around ideas and sketches of them here? I'd like feedback and I mean if I'm doing it for this then your guy's thoughts would matter to me
like... my first thought when I read about the Katsura Otako was this piece of art by an artist I love. The man could be dressed all nice, and be decorated with gems like that to look like stars... Buttons or designs on his suit can look like the phases of the moon. . .
and the seraph... I've read some people talking about how dark older stories about angels were, spurred by an image of that angel from Hellboy. It's be neat to try to make a kind of creepy one, if I can manage it. Horror isn't really my thing.

I do quite like the idea of the stars and moon phases on the outfit :D It makes me curious when you mention buttons, what are thinking of for the clothing? Like a Japanese navy sort of thing? I keep trying to find a picture to explain what I'm talking about here, but Google is failing me xD With the white and the gold...

honestly I had no idea what I wanted to do for clothing. I usually just kind of mash together a few influences because I'm a wreck drowning in references.
my first thought when I think of men's fancy dress is stuff like this

I also had another idea of "well should his skin be black like space, or white like the moon??" and then a moment later: "... wHY NOT BOTH?"
because he could go threw the phases... from a black "New Moon", to a white "full moon"!
then I remembered an artist I like did something like that

Wow, that black and white moon looks indeed awesome.
But couldn't you also include that in the evolution steps? Like starting with black and slowly changing to white in a way the moon changes (so starting from one side).
