The forge and crafting table give you the ability to make your own weapons and armor. Relying on the stuff built at the weapon shop will put you at a disadvantage in battle.
The main reason that I was able to beat many of the bosses is because of the weapons I made.

I've already achieved the ending of the first ark, but decided to restart my game, remember? x'D And for some reason its not giving me the option to get the Forging License even after talking to Bado, Licenses is not coming up as an order option. I have the Chemistry one and the two for Cooking but not Forging, so I'm thinking it's because my princess rank is not yet high enough. 
I haven't even done the first boss yet.

Good luck! I am so close to the end of the third arc, and it has been so hard to beat some of the bosses. Sins the third arc started I have replaced my weapons and armor about five times for stronger items. I am never restarting my game. This save file shall be there forever.

lol, luckily I haven't gotten to that point yet, so restarting was not too concerning for me. XD And the game made me mad last night, a hurricane is in the area, I have enough points to cancel it and I say it on the list just two days ago game time. Now its not on the list! %^%#^@$%@!

It does not show up on the list until after the first arc I think. If you use wetable powder from the Flower Shop it should protect your crops.

Sadly the flower shop is not selling that yet for me, so I lost some of my crops.

That sucks, but maybe this will cheer you up. The first time I had a hurricane I had just planted my entire field with crops.

I actually did that in my previous game, three of them being trees and ended up loosing two of them.

I have found a good way to increase Skill Points. The Heart Pendent has an effect on it that increases the amount of skill points you get for doing anything. Like crafting.
