But I get Mahjong now! >:D Muahaha! It's like Rummy/rummikub(?). ^^ And I really like that game >:3 Maybe I could actually win one of those... >.>
I love those little slidy picture things, but I haven't done one in awhile. ;-; I do know how to solve a Rubik's Cube now though! >:D It's basically just logic. You solve it in three layers (basically, bottom, middle top). And solve for one color first (the first layer). There are a few things you need to know first though:
1. Center pieces NEVER MOVE. You move the other pieces to fit the color in the center of the face.
2. If it's a corner piece, it will always be a corner piece. Same thing for the edge/side pieces. (These are between the corner pieces and right next to the center piece.)
3. DON'T MOVE THE STICKERS AROUND. It doesn't help. You'll just screw up your cube. XP
I would tell you how to do the whole thing, but there are sites online telling you how to already. I'm pretty sure that you could figure out the 1st and 2nd layer by yourself if you really wanted to. It's all logic. :P

Oh, basically, the game ends when someone states, "I resign." Or something like that. You can normally tell because there won't be any more opportunities for the opponent to attempt and invasion and succeed. ^^ I'm not real sure if you understand me though.. >>

I know it ends when someone resigns... but in the anime, sometimes people know before the entire board is filled.

Oh sometimes it's because they'll look at what's on the board and based on that, they'll decide whether they have a winning or losing chance. It can also depend on the person's morale. ^^
