Kittaly: It depends, from what I know, when you are leveling your knuffel in its element but digging outside of it, then it might help in the first few levels to get some extra clicks in but would later level considerably slower if you continued this.
If it's leveling outside of its element and digging in the area that its leveling in (given this case), it would level slow to begin with (having only a 1% chance of being successful), but would later progress quickly because it is more beneficial to be successful outside of its original element than inside of it.

Also, the last time I checked, Icewolf01 had the highest dark: knuffel.php?i=4680EAB1&d=f

And thanks for the explanation everyone. Thinking about it, logically it does kinda make more sense since doing something outside of your inherent ability would be more difficult.

As temping as it seems though I would end up breaking my brain if I leveled a Knuffel outside of it's element unless I could keep all the elements even, but I think that would then be spreading the points out too thin and making it useless.

Haha yeah I give myself little hints as to what I'm leveling them outside on so I remember

Monoko you find in a cave in one of the Monocrome Worlds which is a white desert so I level in fire instead of light
Masada you find in his spaceship on your way to Mars so I level in air instead of dark
Vriska's title is the Thief of Light so I level in light instead of dark
Jade's title is the Witch of Space so again I think air and level that instead of earth
Some of the others really don't have much rhyme or reason besides some knuffels having a color reminding me of another element (Ceil digging water instead of fire, Terezi digging dark instead of water). Nepeta's the odd girl out digging fire instead of air which is mainly due to her having a different name when I first adopted her

I will agree it is a rather slow going level-wise at first (because they don't find much) and even later it takes a little longer dig-wise. My knuffels who dig inside can dig at least 7 or 8 times before getting tired while my knuffels outside can dig about 5 or 6 times before getting tired.

Wow that's awesome Moi. Light is hit or miss for me. I've gotten a gold bullion and an angel feather before there as well as 1k a couple times but most of the time it's a lot of useless stuff or nothing xD
