It makes me paranoid to think that I might still be conscious and I'd just be rotting in a hole for eternity u8;
So I'd most likely choose cremation.

I'm also an organ donor :3
I don't need my organs if I'm dead so someone who needs them should get them 8u

I wanna be buried, but not stuffed full of the chemicals that embalming uses nowadays, so my body can return to the earth, after all possible donatable organs have been harvested.

I'm also an organ donor. :3

Sometimes I worry my organs won't be donated...
My ID says "Donor <3" on it soooo 8u
Even so, I told my mom I want my organs donated.

If a dad of four needs a new heart - I want him to have mine.
If a child needs a new kidney so they can live their life - I want them to have mine.
If an artist needs new eyes so they can continue making art - I want them to have mine.

I heard a story recently where this woman's son died and his heart was given to someone else.
The someone else was a baseball star that the son actually idolized.
The baseball star told the mother she could visit him any time to listen to her son's heart.
That was so sweet 8,u

Yeah. And like you said, we'll be dead, and won't be using the organs anymore, so someone might as well have a chance at a full life because of 'em.

My dad's ex freaked out when I told her I was an organ donor.
She started frantically telling me that they'd rip my organs out while I'm still alive without any anesthetic and stuff.
I was just like ".....okay 8u"

I've always said I wanna be a donor, but since I moved, I never really looked into it? I've told people, but don't really know where to register here.

Good you all mentioned it, I'll look into it. ;-)

I don't know how it works elsewhere, but here registering as a donor is not binding.

If there is any situation in which your organs could be harvested for medical reasons, your next of kin will be inquired.
The technicality is that you might never registered but you thought of doing so. And all the other way around you might have registered and changed your mind ever since - and you never got around being removed from the list.
So your next of kin is supposed to know what your current mind of the issue was, and comply with it.

First time I told about this, my mom freaked out.
Now my next of kin is my husband, and he's perfectly fine with it.
He hasn't registered as a donor, but he told me he would also like it if the situation arised.

Now hopefully we both die of old age and there are no useful organs to use xD

I actually checked, I was aware of the Dutch regulations which recently changed, but found out now the Hungarian one's are quite the same. Everyone's a donor, unless they refuse. So either you need to write down you don't want it or your relatives can refuse I guess. But if they know, I guess I'm fine. Wherever I am.

I remember filling it out in the Netherlands, I think I said no to eye things, but actually... Even that doesn't matter. And I doubt they'd want it, I wear glasses. Or doesn't that matter? I dunno.

Nice topic for this evening on the couch. xD

With my state, I think you can just register online. That's one of the reasons I was worried I'm not a donor. People were like "You need to register online!" and I was like "But I marked it down when I got my ID renewed and it says I'm one u8"

You guys wanna hear a messed up story? You do? Okay \8u/

There was this woman whose boss needed a new kidney. Being the sweetest person in the world, the woman offered her own kidney.
After the surgery, the woman was having complications so she didn't go to work.
The boss ended up firing her for not coming to work.
The woman didn't come to work because she gave the same boss a kidney.
Like I don't care what work rules state - if your employee gives you their kidney, you don't fire them for having complications and missing work .__.

Talking about our own death is a perfect topic for a halloween event :mclaugh:

I don't think glasses matter?
Whoever needs an eye is quite worse off than they would be with an unperfect eyesight.

@Moi:
I'm so glad I don't live in the US.
You have the weirdest regulations.
