I am sure you will have your chance in future Knuffel auctions! Prices won't stay crazy like this for long for sure, because it takes quite a while to collect such funds.

Well, this makes me regret coming back to the sight.
Now a complete collection will never be obtained.
And at that price it makes me wanna throw my FCs on the market for 100k each just to have a chance to bid.

It's a beautiful Knuffel, a bit sad I'll never get it but there is no way I get funds like that any time soon. :}

Firn wrote:Melly, have you read my explanation on the past page of the idea behind this auction and how the main point is to make this site more freindly for everyone, inclusing new players? https://kofk.de/viewtopic.php?p=7777574&f=1#p7777574
Because what would turn me completely off as a new player would be to come here and see that a Fairy Coin and therefore new items that get added mutiple times a month sell for 100000 :food: and are impossible to get more than one Knuffel among many I possibly can't get.
Inflation and therefore insane prices for everything seem like a bigger problem than one Knuffel to me.
Firn,
Yes I have read it and I see where this idea is coming from. I 100% agree with you that it is really demotivating to see so high prices as a new player. And 100K for an fairy coins is insane!
But still I don’t think this is the solution. The prices will not drop on items. Maybe here and there the will be I will give you that. Who knows!
But because of the feature in market you check the prices with people will hold on to the price they . It will not drop. And who will blame them? Why would you sell something for 10K if a month ago it was selling for 100K?
And what is the most expensive thing on the site? Yes the FC! Because you can only obtain it with real money. And that’s why the price is insane.
You can only buy it with cash or get it from an player who did that. Why in the world would someone sell it for cheaper if the price is being paid? That’s how economy works. Here and in real live. Same go for items that don’t sell anymore. (Monthly items)
So as a new player Insane prices in market and knuffel action will turn me off a little but there are still things I can buy for a low price that are harder to get like knuffel items.
What matters is that normal items will be available. And that’s where also a problem lies. Everything on this site is limitless. You buy a normal item? It is yours to have forever. It will never disappear or break or be consumed. (Except the tickets for knuffel care but the amount of that is so low it is not even worth mentioning and you can get them for free with posting)
The only things that are not limitless are monthly items. And what do you see in there? The price go up. But you didn’t make that a big drain. You use donuts, fc and tokens. Not much food points. So they still sit in the accounts from players. And again I understand this. You use this as a reward for players to post and to be online.
But the price will not drop with this money drain. Not only is a money drain really negatively for players (look at the reactions here) but demotivating. There are far better ideas that will not affect the players so negative. Look at games as World of Warcraft, EVE or Guildwars 2.
They all got the same problem. You can get money infinitely. And that’s on this site the problem as well
Even really simple TCG games have this problem but have a Faucet that is positive for players. Buying packs for new cards. And they will get more and more because they want that one special card that is 1 in a 1000. THAT is a really positive way the get money out of the site.
With your idea you will get money out of the site but at what cost?
1. You only affect big players with money.
2. You don’t have the guarantee they will bid on it because they play for avatar items and not knuffels
3. you don’t have the guarantee that the prices will drop. Even more I don’t think it will work at all.
4. you will get negative reactions
5. how many knuffels will it cost to drain just a little bit out of the economy. Big people will dig a little with all de knuffels and Bam there is new money. They post a lot Bam more money.

It is like you are cleaning the floor but the water is still running.
And of course it’s a big problem. And again I don’t underestimate it. Inflation can be the end of a game of site. I know that. And this site do have a big problem with inflation
But more players is good for the economy. I think more than an money drain. Even if the knuffel is really pretty!
In this article they explain how inflation in games works and how they overcome this. And just as they explain, The price of super rare items(fc) will go up because they are needed. I think you will do good to read it.

I hope I have given you my insight of the problem and why this is not the best idea.

See, that is what you don't seem to understand - They would sell it for cheaper if the price is NOT being paid and they were in need of food.
People can only pay crazy prices like 100k fot a FC if they actually have that amount of food. You can't pay with something you don't have. A lot of the (very few) fairy coins that get sold in the market are sold through auctions, so the price is not determined by what the buyer asks for, but what users want and can (!) pay for it.

I do not think that this is the solution to all our problems (we have far greater problems like the lack of new users), but I believe that it could at least help with one of our problems.

But this is getting off topic. As said, suggestions regarding inflation should go in the feedback forum where everyone can put in their thoughts and suggestions. The announcement forum is not the right place for this.

I think the problem is that you are thinking too ideological. That is a real shame. if you read the article I posted above you will understand what I mean and got insight of the problem. The price will not drop because you take money from 1 player. I think the reactions in this subject prove that point

Oh man, she is so cute. There is no way I'll have enough FP to get her, but hopefully in the future auctions I can get my hand on one. As long as there are no last minute bidders like the few times I tried to buy something auctioned in the market. I really like this idea for sure though!

Good luck to those who can actually afford to bid for them. I will probably forget this exists after a while, simply because I can't afford to bid for them.
