There are times when I won't find all four... I'll go to every page I can think of. Like this hour I can only find 2. Last night I found 3, I even checked the forums. Do I need to check individual threads? If so... I have keys so I'm not worried just wish I could find them faster.

No, you do not need to check individual threads. If the key fragments are hidden in the forums, you will see them in the first thread you look at. However, they can be found in the forum index page, subforums, or on threads. These are all different locations.

I'm starting to get nervous about how complicated the calendar event has become over the past few years. In '09 we just had to log in, click the window, and play around with our new holiday item. More and more steps and requirements have been added ever since.
Also, with the new feature where we can get multiples by opening windows multiple times, I'm nervous that I'll accidentally click the wrong number and use a key for a repeat item instead of a new one, is there some sort of pop-up or prompt if we already have the item? I'm afraid to try for myself since it is harder to get the keys.
I also think that it might be beneficial to explain that forum stuff somewhere in the original announcement. I might finally understand where I need to check within the forums, and I know that a lot of users are confused about it. Pop-up items can appear on the main index page, the subheading index pages (The Kingdom, The Bazar, etc), in each of the subforums, and on any(?) thread, right? So if you want to check the thread level, clicking on any thread in any forum will work?

If you are afraid to open a window you already opened, all you need to do is to look at the date. ;) The numbers on the advent calendar equal the date on the month.Like, today is the 3rd and you can open the 3rd window. If you are unsure whether your local time equals server time, you can just look at the server time - It is always on the right side of the page, also when you access the doughnight calendar, so you can always know for sure which is the latest window available.

Yes, but I believe you have to put them in dfferent rooms.
