Well, if you're not sure about it, what you could do is research a bunch of religions. c: See if any interest you or if you like the sound of any of them.
Personally, I was raised Christian Reformed. Closest thing I am to a religion would be Buddhism, but I'm generally Atheist. But, people seem to look down on you when you're Atheist, so, when I'm asked what religion I am, especially by religious people that I know will just want to convert me or whatever, I tell them that I'm Buddhist. <<;

My father was Catholic, my mother Lutheran, my cousins are Jewish and my best friend was Wiccan..... I dunno really what I am either. I use the term "Agnostic" as basically a cover, really. Mostly I think there's more to us than we know, and more to everything out there that we can't even
comprehend yet. One god? Many gods? Who knows! That's like ants trying to figure out humans lol So I just believe there's more out there than what we know or understand. I don't give it this 'over-all-knows-better' complex. I think of it more as something neutral, like nature is neutral. But whatever it is, I don't think I'll let any fear / hatred / other feelings about it dictate what I do with my own life. I just keep going doing things that make me feel good about myself and not guilty about myself.

Though, I admit, I do have a
slight bad habit of tweaking feathers of people who are on their high horse about their religion.

My rule of thumb is: If you feel righteous about it, then you're not right,

you just have a pet peeve.

LOL! I can agree with so much of what you said right there. xD
I don't feel that I need a religion to know what is right from what is wrong and JUST BECAUSE I don't have a religion doesn't mean that I can't do good things for other people. o_o; It doesn't mean that I'm a bad person.
Yes, I do feel there might be something out there..something bigger than everything else, but then..if I am to worship..say..the Christian god..well, who's to say that one is the right religion? If it's not then which one is? And it's by no means the oldest religion, because there was older ones so long ago and they're finding these small fertility statues from it. So, is that one the right religion then? Well, maybe it is, maybe it's not. o_O;
I don't know. Personally, I'd rather believe something that's got scientific evidence for it. xD;

I agree with both of you immensely
i wanted to say i am an atheist ( and probably don't
say i might be for about the same reason as you mere)....but i do believe there's something out there more powerful and wiser then us
Call it fate, Karma,destiny,nature,a God, deity etc.
There's things in this world that mere logic cannot truly explain.
And things like a 300 year old book cannot possibly contain. Plus
with all the translation that have been done to it....who knows?
anyone could have changed it.
The point is,....is that while agree with some parts of my religion
there is a whole lot more of it that i have found pretty absurd and contradictory.
For instance....how can a god be humble and caring as they say he is.
Yet we have to worship his every whim, his every word, his being
to me that is not being humble at all
and if we do not worship his "humbleness" then we burn in a pit of fire?
what?
how is that caring?
So if i didn't worship my parents,my "creators" sort-to-say
then they have a right to set me one fire? o.o
you see what i'm saying here.
Religion just contradicts what pure common sense tells us.
so i agree with all the point you guys are making.
I also don't like how some people decide their religion is above and beyond
everyone's. For me? it doesn't matter to me.
---Your Atheist? Awesome tell me more about it
wiccan? Sure, i'd love to know what it's all about
Chirstian? Catholic?Jewish?Buddhist? Islamic? Sure no problem
I love to learn what people's religion is all about. As long as they aren't
trying to convert me i'm all for it.
In the end....i'll like to believe that ALL of the religions in the world
have a piece of a puzzle. And all of them have a piece of the truth
of what to believe and what's out there.
so that's why i welcome all of them C:

I assume most religions are ancient ways of reminding people to be a
good person. And each society tries to either use logic, deities, fear or other tools to coax people into being a good person the way
they believe 'good' is.

It just turned into a religion from there.
A good way to think of it is like the end of the movie "Dogma". Yes, it's a controversial movie as a lot of Catholics think it makes fun of their religion (but it's
written by a Catholic). In the end, the "moral" is not to have "beliefs" but "ideas", because ideas are allowed to change and/or have different perspectives.
