Yeah, I'll start typing it up in a text document and fussing with it a bit and then post it here and let you guys know so you can look it over and help make sure it's thorough without being overwhelming.

Great :)

Yeah, not overwhelming is an important goal, too... But a lot of that is structure and making it easy to find just the relevant parts one needs at a time :)

Yeah, that's going to be hard.

Do you know how to code that thing where you create a link, but instead of taking you to a whole new website, it takes you to a specific post within a thread?

I feel like if I can figure out how that works, then the first few posts are just general welcome/orientation/index, and I can gradually nest details so people can get specifics when they actually need them.....

Yes, I do, in fact! :)

If you look at a post, to the left of the "posted: ..." in the top right corner there's a little sheet icon. If you rightclick that, you should have an option that says something like "copy link adress" (not sure what exactly, since my browser is german). If you paste this into a url link thingy (I'm assuming you're familiar with how to link things in posts in general? If not I can explain more), the link will take you straight to that post where you copied the address from.

Ooooh, perfect! Yes, I see it! Thank you!

(Do you think if you do a German version and we get Jill to help us with a Spanish version, etc for everyone else we know who has another language, that it would be helpful at all? At least to let new people know that there is someone on the site who can help them answer questions in their native tongue?)

I don't know, it might be? Not sure how many people who don't really speak english would actually enjoy the site... Since at least all the forums and chatting stuff they couldn't really participate in, outside of singular foreign language hangouts?
But I guess the knuffel and avi dressup can still be fun, if you have a guide that explains it to you...

I'm certainly willing to translate the guide in the end! (I think that probably makes more sense than starting it from scratch in parallel. If we get it in a good shape in english it should be fairly straightforward to translate it and maybe expand it in some places where they might need more help because of the language barrier.)

Edit: Wait, there actually is a beginner's guide in the newbies welcome forum already! It's made by CharstarWishes. Not sure how up to date it is, I didn't read through it just now, but maybe it would be a better idea to just update that one if it isn't up to date or missing things?

I'd like the join! Especially for the first prize, unlike others xD

Chrizine and Nankuii are added :P

for the reroll possibility, if I get either Li li or Chrizine on my first roll, they will win 2nd prize. If on the second roll I manage to get the other, they'll get third prize, alright? ;P

and I would definitely help pitching in for the guide! Maybe as an incentive, you could have new users make 50 posts or such and as a reward they get fp from me to adopt their first knuffle etc c:

That sounds sensible, yeah! :)

I think there's probably already some program for getting your first knuffel through the outreach thread, isn't it? But in general, rewarding newbies for starting to actually actively chat is probably a good idea!
