Starting as toy advertisements if kind of normal, but starting as greeting card advertisements? Why would greeting cards need commercials. They did go on to have toys though.

I guess if your mascot is cute enough, it works out. And let's be real, the Care Bears are super cute. I always wanted to see the movie that came out when I was a kid. Only got to watch the first half and that killed me.

Okay I did some more research and both Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake started as greeting card characters too.
