I can't believe someone would do that. That is despicable. I could never be so cold. I would tell her it was a Christmas treat, but not a gift. And she'd get Christmas presents as well as the treat. Like a special Christmas cookie.

I believe if you can't get your kid something for Christmas then you should tell them and not get their hopes all up

Right. But at the same time there are Dollar Stores up to the yin-yang and they'd be able to get them something. Or at a thrift store. I just did. I got my daughter for about two dollars a set of three cars and a Batman figure for Christmas because I don't think I'll be able to get out to Walmart or whatever to get her a Jack-in-the box. Maybe for her birthday.

little kids are easy to shop for

That's no lie. Yesterday when my daughter's toy car broke I told her maybe Santa will bring her a new one. And she wanted one that was purple. Well my dad and I went down to the Dollar Tree and there in a pack of three was a purple car. And a Batman figure, because she loves Batman. She has this cute little Batman shirt with a cape that she wore for three days. Now it's the tie-dye shirt time.

I don't have that problem. Here we wear it until it's torn to shreds, or we out grow it. Personally I need a few new shirts, my chest is making it hard for me to wear some old stuff.
