I love circle skirts! Basic but lovely.

And easy to build upon if you do want to turn it fancier! c:

give it a nice waistband, add belt hoops maybe if you have a cute belt you can pair it with. Add a really nice quality lace to the bottom, etc

CUTE POCKETS

It's not really all that complicated, it's a wrap skirt with a waist and some outside decorative pockets (which are made of a few smaller pieces). I just had trouble figuring out how the waistband pieces fit together.
I actually just got motivated to work on it a little more after I came up with the idea of finishing it before the trip and figured it out when I tried to understand which pieces needed interfacing, since I wanted to cut that out. Now I've also already ironed the interfacing to the (hopefully) right pieces and have some more clear idea of how this is going to go.

A put some WIP pictures into my crafty hangout already earlier today :) But I'll definitely try to take some pictures of it worn once it's done! :)

It was a piece from the sale table that was juuust enough for the pattern :D But I like it, I wanted a light brown skirt for a while now and the stripes give it some interest :) And it's a bit thicker, which is good, since I have way too few winter skirts (like, I have one that I have worn so much that the side where my bag hangs looks positively ragged. And then I bought another one recently, but I don't really want that to suffer the same fate. Everything else is not quite what I grab for when it's really cold...) :D

Can't really wear it yet :D I mean, I can already wrap it around me, but it doesn't look like much ;)

Yes, winter skirts are hard to find. It seems like all the companies which sell skirts are designing them for tropical weather.

Apparently most people just wear pants in winter? I don't like wearing pants though, so I guess sewing my own skirts really just is the best option :D

That and I find them a lot less comfortable to wear... And it's hard to get ladies pants with actual functional pockets of a decent size! That's actually easier with skirts, if they have any, they're usually not thaaat small. And there's better chances to add some to a skirt than to pants as well.
