I had the most fun at g.online (not the website, but playing around with my avatar) before they banned me. I had so many items too (good items). All that wasted time though, to be able to get the things without having to pay real money however. And my God, am I glad I didn't use real money with the way that ended, lol. At least I managed to save some of my personal fav looks, so that's something at least...
I was usually pretty fast putting together a look. Of course, the more items I had, the longer it took to go through them, but without counting that part I was fast. I don't know why though, but I was never that good at putting together great avatars in this place though. I mean overall everything looks great, so I really don't get it. It's not like I didn't have enough items or something. So it's really weird...
I do like playing around with the dream avatar creator. I have the most fun in there. Still haven't finished any of those DA looks though. Not even the one I'm wearing now, which is missing few items, but meh. It's not that big deal.

Gaia and KofK were my two go-to avatar sites. They were the closes to an anime-esque style, so that's why I liked them. I got fed up with Gaia because of inflation and how much it turned into a money making scheme. Definitely a huge pain in the butt if you didn't donate money. When TinierMe still used to exist, that was a good place for me too.
I found that my avatars tend to work better with certain color schemes. Especially now that the color palette is standardized, it's much easier to match items now.
I think your avatar still looks great the way it is now! I like the DAC because I can choose whatever items I want. Problem is, then I come out with an avatar that needs too many items I don't own. xD

I used to be on Gaia as well
I also got fed up over the money grubbing of gen 2 management
But I've got rec, Windlyn, here, Aywas, Tattered Weave, and Flight Rising to more than make up for dropping Gaia
It's amazing that i can focus on any one site

For me TinierMe wasn't the greatest place to be community wise, and it was real low blow how they ended things. But I did love their avatars. Still do, so it's nice that the dream avatar creator is still up last time I looked.
I don't know, for me it's not even the whole color thing. I can't quite get to the root of the problem why I had such hard time with it all in here. Probably just me.
Thanks. And oh yeah, the biggest problem with the DAC indeed... Worse thing yet if those items are rare and super hard to get, lol.
@Kitalpha Hart
Oh my... It really has been a while since I obsessively joined any and all avatar sites, since there's some names I've never even heard of.

@Kit:
Honestly, I can't do more than one site at a time. xD I used to be on Elidiun when that existed too, and when I was there, I wasn't really on KofK.
@Leo:
Yeah, it wasn't too good community wise. I don't even really remember what I did there to be honest. Maybe played the games. I don't think I talked to people much.
Maybe it's in the way that you feel like avatars should be? I know I like to have mine fill up the entire space nicely.

If it weren't for some I talk to on rec I'd leave there pretty easily
Windlyn's still fairly new
Tattered Weave opened beta a bit over a month ago
Aywas I lurk to death. It's really slow, and i could prolly drop fairly easily if it gets too boring
Flight Rising is fun, I vary between lurking and chattering
I used to be on Syndrone, but Forkgate occurred and now the current owners essentially left the site for dead
Solia I tried. Couldn't get myself to like the avis
Several others I looked at, didn't like the avis
Joined Mweor. Never got the email to fully activate my account. It's been months, I ditched it after, oh, a week of trying to get the damn thing without being able to ask for help, even view forums, and their help thing completely useless for what I needed
I've been on a lot of sites

I can't remember that clearly either since it's been a while, but I think it was along the lines of sucking the users as dry as they could from their money and only then suddenly out of nowhere they announced the closing of the website. I mean I don't care what the core reason to end things was, but it's the way they ended things (just like from what I heard, the closing of ernya wasn't too nicely done either, but that I've only heard, not actually seen myself). I myself didn't do much talking with too many people in there. I mostly got some art and played dressup. Funny thing is, no matter how many cool items I had (some which was given to me when someone quit the website and gave all her stuff to me which was nice), to the very end my favorite look was with some of the most common and least expensive items. I still have avatar art I myself made of it back then.
Hmmm... Who knows. Perhaps. I honestly have no idea.
@Kitalpha Hart
Oh my, the old me is slightly disappointed those places weren't around when I was still looking for more places to join... XD But overall I think the time for avatar sites is gone. For this generation at least. Perhaps in another ten years or so it'll be rediscovered in a big way again, only more according to the way times have changed by then, who knows.

..........Anyway. I hope you guys have done well with your goals this event, whatever those goals are.

Must. Get. Donuts.
I have a feeling having a hoard will come in handy soon.

I'm wondering how many of those tied shirts I should grab. Lol, prolly one of each striking color, which'd likely be 5 - 8 total. After that I can hoard.
