Woah, that sounds quite intense!
I mean, I get being annoyed at constant noises, but it's just normal that there will be some of that when people first move in?? And as long as it's not early in the morning when you try to sleep...
And you don't have to immediately go to the landlord about it after just saying something once...

I think its mostly just irking me that its coming off so unnecessarily petty? Just the fact that she came to our door yesterday only to still complain to our landlord right after is like, no chance for us even? I really like our landlord and now I can't help but feel like its so annoying for her to get dragged into this too and just the fact that I spent 20min just now to formulate a polite reply to her mail in which I have to defend the fact that we -two 26yo who left our parents- obviously had to buy and assemble new furniture because well hello obviously we don't have a lot of belongings yet?
We tried to keep our work as short as possible and to be fair we've literally only been in the apt for one month. And we started assembling our furniture after the new year.
I just can't believe my bff had to apologise for wearing heels at 4pm yesterday and literally the next evening I'm writing a long explanation mail to the landlord on how we're done with all the excessive noise making, so sorry!
Also thinking of how she must have seriously fibbed a bit or made it sound worse than it is to the landlord really doesn't sit right with me. We kept our noise well within legal hours, literally tried to keep it contained to avoid annoying the neighbours and now we find out our upstairs neighbour can't even handle the sound of my bffs heels on the floor... makes you afraid to laugh out loud in your own home tbh

It does sound like the neighbor must have exaggerated what you were doing... :/
And I definitely get how it irks you that she wrote to the landlord just after talking to you. I mean, give people a chance to take your criticism...
I'm holding my thumbs for you that she won't continue to be annoying and just somehow needed to release her stress about the moving in sounds once.

Ugh. Some neighbors are just awful. I hope she was just having a bad day or something and won't continue to bother you.

Aw I am sorry to hear that, Popidoki!
You are definitely not overreacting, I think it's perfectly reasonable to get upset about your neighbor who obviously has nothing better to do than make matters worse for you :(
Seriously, everybody with a brain knows that moving furniture etc. might take a few days and will be over after.
I really hope your neighbor was in a bad mood herself (was it a 'she'?`Already forgot xD) and it'll get better. Imagine she'll do that everytime something bothers her in the least. I hope it'll get better!

Huh. Why is she so aggressive about the noise? Is just one of those nosy people who use "noise complaint" as an excuse to try and find out what's happening? Does she suffer from migraines?
(I guess you guys have an excuse to go rug shopping so your bff can wear heels)
edit: Ha! Maybe she is hungover a lot! :P

I honestly don't know, she was really polite and friendly in the beginning to us...invited us over for coffee etc haha not going to happen anymore now c':
at least our landlord is nice in her replies and saying that she trusts us to be able to let this slide etc and that she knows this is the end of our big furniture assembling anyway.
it just stings that that neighbour immediately went so over the top with her complaining, makes me think she has really thin skin so to speak. Hate having to keep that in mind now constantly :'/

Hm, that's unfortunate. Polite and friendly sounds much better... Maybe she really just had some super bad days and overreacted because of that?
But it's good if at least the landlord isn't taking her at her word and thinking badly of you now :)
But yeah, I get how this makes you feel uneasy about irritating her again, since that's not something one wants to deal with all the time... I hope it'll work out, maybe you will get on more friendly terms with her again once she sees that it all was just still moving in noises. Maybe she was just worried that it would continue with the drilling and stuff for very long? If she was friendly in the beginning, I'd say there is hope. She can't be all cranky all the time then ;)

I hope things just die out and tbh that we can just ignore each other from now on, we feel no need to ever talk with her again haha
the thing is just that on Monday we literally told her that yesterday was going to be the last day we would be assembling furniture, the last day of us making noise. And then we started in the afternoon even though our delivery came at 9am especially for her comfort. We ended at 5pm, and then she still found it necessary to complain to our landlord.
She comes to our door at 4pm on Monday, we apologise and ensure her that it'll only be one more day of noise and 25h later we get a mail from the landlord cause she complained to her anyway. That's not just a bad day imo that's just petty c':
I don't want to see her at her non-cranky moments I don't want to see her at all after this :P
