A cat or two is definitely quite high on my goals list, too ;)
I love cats :)

I love all pets, but a cat is more suited for apartment living. Once we're well and truly settled in we're going to look at the local shelter cx

We are kind of pushing off getting a cat until we actually do have jobs and know if we have to move for them. But as soon as I have some kind of feeling of stability and know we'll stay in one place for a while, I do want to get one as well :)

they're definitely not an impulse buy, we aren't getting one till we're fully prepared as well. And even then we'll take our time in picking and bringing one home c:

I think once I'm at the point to actually go somewhere and pick one, I'll know which one in a matter of seconds :D I mean, not that I wouldn't take all the time needed to get to know them all a little, but I tend to have strong gut feelings about those things :D

Oh yes, it's a great subject to dream about and imagine how things will be :)

I have a certain idea of what I'd like, but as for looks I think all cats are cute af so I'd literally go with the first one I saw haha

but I do want an older kitty, not a kitten or less than 1 year old. And it needs to be a cat that can handle living with other cats, because I'm planning on someday having 2 so I'd need them to get along. But really aside from that lookwise and such I have no wishes

Yeah, I don't really have specific looks in mind either. They're all cute to me :)
I'd prefer it being short-haired, since I already leave enough hair around the flat, don't need a long-haired cat to add to that :D
But apart from that I'd probably pick mostly by their behaviour and if they seem to like me :)

You do want to just get one for now though? I was wondering if it would be a good idea to just get two at once. A friend of mine got two siblings at once and they get along really well and are super cute. And that way they would always have someone for company, even when their humans are at work.
But then again, maybe it's better to not start with two right away, I can imagine that it could be a little overwhelming at first...

What about personality-wise? Do you specifically want something in regards to behavior or personality?
(As for instance some cats are good at being lap-cats and others won't cuddle, and some do that drool thing and others wouldn't dream of it, and some LOVE food and you have to ration their meals and feed them at set times, and others you just leave food out all day and refresh it occasionally and they'll police their own weight, etc etc)

I definitely want a cuddly one! I love cuddling kitties :)
So I'd probably just get the one that comes up to me and lets me pet it first :D
For the food, I'd probably be fine with either. I have no problem with the idea of having to police how much they can eat, we've always had to do that with our horse :D So I'm used to denying cute things food for their own good ;)
I'm not sure what you mean by "that drool thing" ;)

There are cats who are over-enthusiastic about marking their territory with saliva, and if you pet them for a while they'll not only purr they'll start drooling. It looks really goofy!
