Shojo started out like a genre but now it's really just a drawing style. Huge sparkly eyes and whatnot.
I like manga with shojo drawing style and non-shojo plots
Hardcore shojo is all right in small doses

As Lotus said. It's a genre of manga/anime directed to young girls (jap. shoujo). So lots of flowers, sparkles and overall cuteness. Also lines are more delicate and generally main character is a pretty schoolgirl (middle or high school mostly).
In fact shoujos are good for getting more into culture as they are mostly school dramas or at least include school life in some part. Like in Sailor Moon

Than maybe You would like my comic (that is still in plans) as it is shoujo, but not really concentrated about school but more about moral decisions and changes that they may cause. And [SPOILER ALERT 
] it doesn't have a happy ending. [END OF SPOILER] There is love involved, but it's more like "You can choose what You want, but beware of the consequences". And what I can say, love is the strongest emotion.
Now as I look at it it does end up being shoujo... I should just go to bed...

Blegh... tomorrow i have to show off my internship results at school... point is rather, i don't have that much >.<
@edit: I've re-released Skaapse, my first wild knuffel. She may be seen as a christmas sheep perhaps?
