Sometime when you wake up or later if you have the time, could you share the recipe with me? And by tomato paste, do you mean pureed tomato or?

Whenever I need to make a quick meal I love to make a wok dish ~ just throw it all in there and stir 'n shake c':

its super fun to experiment with ingredients and sauces/seasoning too

Ooh, that's interesting. Do you have homemade sauces/seasoning? I'm trying to cut down on processed foods, especially if I'm going to be cooking anyway.

Yes I always mix stuff myself, I like cooking that way, no rules just trial and error c':

I've had failures but sometimes I also figure something out that makes me think 'hmm gotta remember this combo!'

I love working with light sour cream for example, if you use a light variant it can really work well in a dish as an extra taste. People always fear that it'll literally make a dish sour but it won't if you use a mild one! Add some to your minced meat along with garlic and a bit of regular cooking cream when you make spaghetti for example. Really nice extra bit of flavour c:

If I make rice and with curry I don't use a premade packet or glass jar of sauce such from a store either. Adding kurkuma (no idea if that's spelled right haha) to the water as your rice boils give them the yellow colour too and its also a healthy spice! The flavour is ofc less powerful and ofc its not a sauce, but you can make a bechamel and add kurkuma to that too (as well as a bit of pineapple juice if you like your curry to be a bit sweeter!) and then you'll still have a sauce with your rice

I'm a bit like Popodoki; I didn't use a "recipe", just threw things together.

Let's see, how did it go?
I took the leftover cooked root vegetables and mashed them up with some vegetable broth to thin it out. Cooked a few handsful of a variety of whole grains (barely, wheat berry, some brown pearl rice, I forget what all else).
Then I took a bowl with some flour (a mix again, whatever I had on hand), added in some bright masala and baking powder, and about a cup of black sesame seeds, mixed all that dry stuff together.
The dried tomatoes I had were getting a little old (I periodically take some of the dried tomatoes, chop them up, put them into a jar with lemon juice and a little water to rehydrate a bit, then add a lot of oregano, basil, thyme, a little majoram, and olive oil and stick in the fridge, stirring every once in a while, and use it as a spread or topping. It is very tasty and nice to have on hand, but it doesn't keep forever), so I dumped the rest of that into the mashed roots and the cooked grains. Broke a couple of eggs into it. Poured a little extra oil and a little more vegetable broth in, added a couple chopped up cloves of garlic.
Mixed the wet and dry stuff.
Plopped it onto a tray to make biscuits and baked it.

Tomato paste is tomato puree that has been thickened and concentrated down further. It is not as liquid as tomato puree but the only thing in it is pureed tomatoes, so it's similar. I spread it on top in thick globs like a sort of savory jam, and it really helped perk up the flavor.

I should really get into baking some more now that I finally have an oven. Kind of want to get in on baking some cookies or muffins c:

It's really quite wonderful. I always feel a bit of an alchemist or a magician when baking, because it's like you are doing a spell.
You add special ingredients together, different ingredients for different effects, and do different things with them in strange preparations, and then put it into the oven, and *poof!* It transforms into something delicious.

Cookie summoning ritual/spell:
Gather the Magic Ingredients
Say the Incantation ("please-turn-out-please-turn-out-please-turn-out")
Add the Magic Ingredients one by one to your Spell-casting Cauldron (mixing bowl)
Stir carefully
Form into magical shapes and talismans (roll out and use cookie cutters)
Wait for the moon to reach the fated stage (bake for however long)

if you've done the ritual correctly, your spell will turn out to have summoned: Cookies!

Don't forget the evil cackling as your batch is in the oven

"yes, rise, rise, rise!"

Yes.

Well, that settles it. I must now go make cookies. Wish my spell-casting luck!

Happy casting! :D

I think I prefer baking brownies or muffins, or just a cake c:
I do also LOVE trying out something from Nerdy Nummies on youtube bust sadly so many of the ingredients are harder to find here in Belgium :'c
