@Hino: A friend of mine used to have it like that. Like learning to entertain yourself without a computer. She was only allowed to spend 1 hour on the computer except if she had to do school research stuff (lower school, internet wasn;t that booming yet XD)

My parents did tell me to get away from the computer many times XD But i hardly had friends to play with anyway so

I did try challenge as "How long can i go without a computer" i remember i once stayed away from it for 2 weeks. Than i would just... hang on the stairs chatting with my dad who was in his pc-topia room below the stairs XD

I only use quotes when im replying to anything that mighthave vanished into other aging post... but yeah usually i just speak directly using @ xD

@Hino-chan: This year for four months my routine was: come back from school, change and eat, go to coaching classes to crack the medical entrance, come back at 9:00, have dinner, do homework, bed. Now I've ditched the coaching classes but I still have to compete with millions of kids my age who don't do anything except study. (We choose our streams after 10th grade, so if we take science we can do anything, if we take commerce we can only do commerce or arts in higher studies, if we take arts we're limited to arts.)
I'm still better off than my cousin though, he was only allowed to access the internet in his summer holidays. The poor boy used to sit with his books at mealtimes so as not to waste any time that could be used for studying. I think it's only so bad in China, Singapore and my country though... and probably other Asian countries.
@Ice: Welcome! There seems to be an influx of ex-Gaians into Kofk, you might run into people you knew there! I think there's a hangout for ex-Gaians actually, called Masquerade something.

@Hino-chan: I think in many other countries college applications need to feature a life apart from grades to impress? I wish the educational system here would transform itself to emulate that, I really do.

I think people are leaving Gaia for other avi sites more because of the hyperinflation than anything. The economy is in shambles and they're treating users as money mines, there's nothing you can achieve on Gaia now without paying up real life money now. Personally I was never an active member there so it doesn't affect me much but it's a general blow because so many avi sites have a hard time running and close, if Gaia shuts too it'll be like, 'This is the fate of even the most successful avi site! Because it's an avi site!'
