My parents did a loan for mine with the orthodontist.

but it was $5000

I have a retainer now, permanent one and it's a pain. (sometimes literally a pain too when the glue needs redoing).

I bet cause one wisdom is slowly coming through, I'll need all the wisdom teeth to come out.. cause I wouldn't be surprised if the top row on left side are shifting cause of that wisdom tooth

I sometimes feel my wisdom tooth coming up but they don't ;o
I was supposed to get an ultrasound done to check where they currently are but never got to do it.

you mean x-ray?

I can see mine popping up a bit already. I can't tell if it's straight or what. It doesn't hurt though it collects food easily

Crazy thing is my teeth are super crooked. Like, I sometimes get ulcers because they are bent at such an angle they cut my mouth kind of crooked. And they have been since they grew in, so I just don't understand why she didn't want me to have them before. My bottom teeth are kind of fine so I don't know if I'll do those as well, but then I'm worried that when my other teeth are straight they will seem worse in comparison XD

The orthodontist will know what to do. You may need braces for top and bottom still, just the bottom may not need as much fine tuning.

I had braces for about.. 12 months? they said it'd be 18 months but my teeth were I guess happy to be fixed up

I spoke to him about it already, he basically said it's up to me. I could also go a surgical route because I have too many teeth at the top basically, he said my jaw is pretty small so I could have some teeth taken out. Or if I don't do that they will be angled slightly once they are evened out.

I only had one tooth taken out.

That was at a dentist, and via needle to numb and I think pulled out? it hurt still but yeah. It was badly crooked.

Going to say it's better to get one or two out then leave them all slightly angled.

Yeah, I meant x-rays.

Surgical way? Does that mean you could avoid the braces altogether?
Sorry I have no idea how teeth work. :mcheh:

No, I would still need the braces. Basically they would take one tooth out at either side, and then use that space to kind of pull my teeth all closer together.

What happened is, because I have a small lower jaw, my upper teeth had to grow in a strange way in order for some of my teeth not to clash. So if I don't have those teeth out, my upper teeth can't go straight - that would make it hard to close my jaw.

The surgery's more expensive and time-consuming and risky though. Also it's not like I could change my mind afterwards lol.

I've had a few teeth out before. My baby teeth didn't want to come out for some reason. A couple of my teeth now are actually quite far out from the others because they started growing in front of the ones that had to be pulled.

Oh I see now.
I think I'd be too scared for the surgery myself.
Aww baby teeth being mean, would be good to get that fixed now so it won't cause any discomfort in the future.
