I thought Hillary did really well in the debate!

There was one point, after Trump had been insulting NATO and threatening to abandon allies, when Clinton just stared into the camera, looked straight past America, and spoke directly to the rest of the world, essentially telling them not to be frightened and that our word is good. It was an act of public service and for a moment it felt as if she already was president.

That is so awesome, wished I saw that. I'm glad she did that. At least she is doing something good. I saw the part where she caught him off guard with how he treats women. So happy she did that. She made a point of it, which I hope is the part that women of this country saw and made them think twice of this person. I'd say man, but there is no way in hell he is one.

I hope so too!

Here's the clip of that moment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAUdzRfOmBo

I've been really upset by the conversation since the debate. Obviously Trump tried to discredit the former Miss Universe who he abused, but I hate how the media is playing along. Like, the line that she's "no girl scout" or that she gained weight. So you can't be Miss Universe if your metabolism changes and your body does normal natural things? So if you don't live your life as a virgin saint, it's okay for people to treat you badly? It's sick.

I completely agree with you. I saw the video where he took her to a gym and she didn't look bad at all. She still looked nice. Her weight gain wasn't bad at all. It was dispearsed all over her body, no problem at all. Trump is wayyyy too much into looks and weight it's pathetic and disgusting.

Absolutely.

Fat shaming is a huge issue for me. I was bullied for my weight in elementary school and one time someone left a note on my mother's car at a PTA meeting saying "Being fat isn't a disability" (my mother has a number of serious medical conditions). But even outside of those two blatant examples, fat shaming is something that happens at a subliminal level every single day and it's so frustrating watching people on tv--people who maintain ridiculous societal beauty standards as part of their job--engage in this behavior.

Ya too many women today have issues with their body because body standards have changed so much and it's not getting any better I think. Yes there are plus sized models for Victoria Secret but some of them aren't really fitting the plus size norm. But of course that changed too. Hell size 10s are considered too big but they are not. >.> I wished this country would calm down a bit. Heck most countries should calm down with their standards. But at least the US isn't like Japan where I read it's supposded to be illegal for people to be overweight. But of course their overweight is way different. Like 45kg is good, 99lbs. >.> I feel bad for women there.

And the news has already moved on....

Now we're all talking about Trump's 1995 tax returns. It's so funny watching his surrogates try to defend this! They're saying he's a "genius" for not paying taxes. As if avoiding the one and only form of required national service is smart. Fuck that and fuck all the billionaires who don't pay taxes.

And then today he said that allowing women to officially serve in combat roles is "politically correct" nonsense.

ARGH!!!

As if women haven't been serving as rank-and-file soldiers, either unofficially or disguised as men, FOR. ALL. TIME. There has never EVER been a war fought in this country without female soldiers! From the American Revolution on, there have always been women warriors. This whole argument is so unbelievably sexist.

And yeah, I know, people always talk about a study that was done on the mixed gender Marine units that said such units were less effective. But a: anyone who knows anything about research would tell you that a study needs to be replicated in order for the findings to be valid and b: there are deep-seated cultural and social barriers to gender equality, especially in a hyper-masculine warrior culture like the military, and those barriers will take time and effort to overcome. Change doesn't happen overnight. But change is obviously possible, if you look at militaries like Israel's which has always had women serving in combat roles. Or look at all the American women who HAVE been serving in these roles in unofficial capacities!

Honestly, if people just thought about these things instead of making a firm decision based on initial gut reactions....

His tax stuff confuses me on how he is even running. That should say something is wrong but with people saying his massive loss is a reason to get
away with it..... And people call him a great business man for losing that much money? Ya ok sure. >.>

Women really are more stronger than anyone even wants to give us credit for. But of course the morons thinking up this crap are some of the stupidest people alive for heavens sake. Like a year or so ago I read about some retarded man in the government who had the balls to say women give themselves their periods to get time off work..... And he's married... How in the hell is that even working out???
