I really truly wish the "daylight savings" nonsense would disappear altogether. It makes no sense.
Timing is based on the notion of "noon", or 12, being when the sun is directly overhead. All the other calculations were done around that.
Time zones to fix the shift.
So....
Why do we suddenly have half the year where the underlying anchor behind the entirety of our current time system is undermined????

well isn't daylight savings also for like......planting reasons? i dunno. like.......more sunlight and all that. its silly but eh, most clocks are digital now so it changes on its own. lol

I remember that in the EU we once voted about getting rid of daylight savings... That was around 7 or 8 years ago
But we still have it because they couldn't settle on what the Standard time should be. Or something like that -.-

I think Quebec here has lots of complaints against the rest of Canada lol. XD;; I think DST is one of them. Maybe. I don’t remember.

Daylight Saving Time actually hurt farmers when it first came out. It's supposed to be for stores to sell more stuff with having more daylight hours, but of course instead they'll argue about kids getting on the bus in the dark to justify it.

I saw a suggestion once to just split the difference, offset the clock by 30 minutes, and never touch it again. I rather like that. It is so rough on trying to readjust to the "spring forward" every year.

Heh, kinda like the "carrots make your eyesight better!" to hide the fact they just developed night-vision goggles? Figures. Carrots do have properties that help your eyes, but not quite to the extent they blustered for the war.

It's so weird to think other countries do DST too. It's such a dumb idea, for the longest I thought it was strictly American.

Seasonal hours would make a lot more sense. Make like 8am to 4pm standard, and then let all the stores and businesses decide from there if they wanna go longer in the sunnier months.
