Kayo smiled at her, a genuine, caring smile, and hugged her close again, swaying to the beat.

"You know... we love you, right?"

He had almost been about to use a word that wasn't 'we', but decided against it at the last minute.

Kira smiled for two reasons; one, the response he'd her question, and two, she'd noticed the look he was giving Butch.

"Thank you," she said, softly.

Ruby felt her cheeks heat when he hugged her close and relaxed against him as they swayed. She'd heard Kira say it more times than not, but hearing it from Kayo..

It felt different..

'Love' was a strong word..

Chaos gave Kira a light squeeze and rested his head on top of hers. "Anytime." He said softly.

Much to Kayo's disappointment, the song ended. He slowly released Ruby, although he held onto her hand.

"You want to stop here and finish our snacks, or you wanna stay for another dance?"

She didn't know where she got her courage from. Maybe it was the fact that she'd spent the past few minutes held close by him, or maybe it was the fact that she had been feeling herself all evening, because of her dress. As the song ended, she pulled her head out from under his chin, held his cheek with her hand, and planted a small kiss on the other cheek.

"That was a lovely dance." Her cheeks were rosy from how shy she was, but the smile remained.

Ruby stood still for a moment after the song came to an end, and gave his hand a squeeze when he spoke. "Can we.. stay like this for one more song?" She shyly averted her eyes, blush coming to her cheeks. She had calmed down grately, but she didn't quite trust herself yet.

Chaos blinked when he felt Kira's hand on his cheek, his golden eyes widening briefly when she kissed his other cheek. His eyes soon softened and he gently cupped her chin and lifted it just enough to meet her eyes. "Care to join me for another?" He asked quietly, bringing their lips together for a brief moment. He didn't know where the spark came from, but he always saw himself as bold.

Kira always made him feel something.. Something more than being friends.

Almost grateful that she'd asked, Kayo smiled at her and took her waist once more, holding her close to him as the next song began. He rested his head on hers, swaying slowly to the beat, his affection for her evidenced by the pounding in his chest.

His entire life, he'd been the brash, energetic and outspoken one; but with Ruby, it was different. She seemed to quiet him where even his sister couldn't. With her, he couldn't find the words to tell her how he felt. All he could do was hold her close, and show her he cared.

He lifted her chin, brown eyes met gold, and his lips were on hers. His question remained unanswered, and Kira could only hope to give him her answer in the way her lips responded to his. All those times that she'd felt her cheeks go red when he was close to her, she'd never thought she would one day be this close to him, and that he would feel something for her too.

She was happy.

Nothing more needed to be said as she lightly leaned against Kayo, his arm around her waist and holdihg her close. A small smile on her lips as her head rested on his shoulder.

She wasn't entirely sure what she was feeling, but it was different than any other time she'd been with him. As long as she'd known the twins, their small signs of affection still made her heart flutter.

Chaos slowly pulled back and broke the kiss, his arm around her waist as he eyes affectionately stared into hers. "I finally get it." He murmured with a small smirk. Chaos brought her close once more and lightly rested his forehead against hers as they danced.

Both of them silently wished this night wouldn't end, even though they knew it would eventually have to.

Kayo just danced with her, holding her as close to him as he possibly could. He liked being this close to her, and found himself hoping for more opportunities to be like this, with her. They just danced together in silence, and briefly looked over at Kira and Chaos.

"They look like they're having fun," he said, watching the two dancing together, foreheads touching as his sister smiled radiantly.

"Took you a while," Kira whispered, humor in her voice. She closed her eyes, continuing to dance with him. Everything else seemed to melt away; right now, it was just her and him. And she wouldn't have had it any other way.

Ruby slowly opened her eyes when he spoke, and smiled some to herself at seeing Chaos and Kira. She was happy seeing them happy, especially after the week they've had.

Chaos chuckled quietly and kissed her forehead gingerly. "Sorry I took so long." He murmured sheepishly, his cheek still heated.

Later that night and after the party, the group went home. It wasn't hard for the students to wind down and find themselves falling asleep after changing out of their party clothes.

It wasn't really until early the next morning that Ruby even realized last night actually happened. She had dreamed of the moment she and Kayo shared, only due to her insanity, it turned into a nightmare of her wavelength shifting and her chains coming out. It wasn't pleasant, it was actually quite terrifying.

Chaos woke earlier than usual, content with how things turned out last night and decided to make breakfast. Nothing fancy, just eggs and toast. Scrambled eggs. He left the kitchen to check on his meister and frowned some when he poked his head into the room they shared. She was sitting up and balling the blankets in her hands. "Bad dream?" He asked quietly as to not spook her.

The twins had gone to bed, each one finding it difficult to fall asleep for their own respective reasons. They'd both stayed up, reliving the moments from the party, trying to commit the feeling of being close to their dates at the party to memory. Kira had a wide grin on her face when she'd finally fallen asleep, while Kayo had had a subtle satisfaction in his heart, a small smile showing up as evidence of what he felt.

Kira was the first to wake in the morning, and she lightly tapped on Kayo's shoulder, earning a groan from him. Knowing he'd take a while to finish waking up, she went to the bathroom to freshen up; when she was out, Kayo was sitting up in bed sleepily, eyes still closed. She walked to the kitchen and saw that there was already a simple breakfast cooking on the stove.

Confused, she turned around and saw Chaos poking into the room he and Ruby shared. She smiled, wondering if he had made the food today.

Ruby nodded some and Chaos went into her room, easing to sit on the edge of the bed. "It's okay Ruby." He murmured calmly.

Noticing Kira, Chaos glanced at her and smirked some before giving Ruby a nudge. "We've got awesome friends, we'll get through it. Besides that, breakfast is ready." He mused with a chuckle before standing and offering her his hand.

Ruby blinked and curiously looked at him. He changed over the course of them knowing the twins, for the better. It made her smile. She nodded lightly amd gently took the hand which easily pulled her to her feet.
