Kingdom of Knuffel

There's this government funded system called ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program) which takes 30$ off your internet bill, or cellphone bill, or whatever program that also does ACP.

I originally had mine attached to my internet, but I forgot to add service time to my tracfone a few months back so I switched it to tracfone.

(what really happened, tracfone called it something else, so i thought it was a similar program, and the program had moved to an official government webpage via FCC... so it looked different too, so I thought I'd get help on both, but what happened was that it transferred from my internet to my tracfone.)

Well... this month I found that the service that I was getting through ACP, I couldn't teather my phone data to my kindle so I can read new chapters off JNC or anything else through the internet... so on Xmas eve, I tried to log into the ACP website to see what I needed to do to transfer back to the internet.

I couldn't remember my password, nor remember where I saved the screenshot of it, and I didn't save it to Firefox. X-x I tried the forgot password option, but that was bugged so I kept getting errors when opening the emailed link. So I got locked out.

Onto my journey yesterday! YAAAAY~
I called ACP, reset my password and got my account unlocked. Asked about how to transfer back to the internet and got the answer of "just call spectrum they can do it for you!"

Good so far yes?

I was already shaking from that phone call (FK YOU PHONEPHOBIA!!! QAQ hate phobias...) so I went to spectrum's website and used their live text chat option. The customer service agent I got... didn't explain things well. I told them what ACP customer service told me. They were all "no, you have to cancel the acp on tracfone first." and just kept repeating it. I called ACP back to ask, and again, different customer service person but same thing. "They should be able to transfer your ACP to them since you haven't transferred yet this month" (you can transfer once a month)

The way Spectrum CS was repeating themselves, and ACP CS saying the opposite.. I went into a slight panic attack and had to disconnect before I started hyperventilating. x-x

After a few hours, I got back on spectrum's website, got a different CS agent, who TRIED (or acted out the motions) to transfer me first, then said it wasn't letting them transfer and explained why. They didn't just jump to stage 3 and repeat it without explanations. So thanks to not feeling so forced to use the phone, I called Tracfone CS, talked to them, they removed ACP off my account, and boom, my Spectrum CS agent was able to send in a ticket to who ever and got me transferred later that day.

The first Spectrum CS just didn't try first (or seem like trying) and just.. kept pushing me to call so many different places, which triggered my anxiety. x-x

The second, slowly walked me through the motions, explained why things weren't working and didn't make call ACP but Tracfone (though I tried using their website's live chat first >w>,) and they got me all set up.

I'm never transferring my ACP away from spectrum again... =x=


One of the few things I did to calm down, I made a speadsheet thing to help me calculate spenditures so I wouldn't go overboard. I have an app for this, but I made a list/spreadsheet thing to help calm me down. =w=, I like making lists.
