We have a 19 century house.

I don't know when we'll be getting the ac.

Other than that I'm fine. Could use some more energy.

So you know the fun things about old houses

Yep. Drafty, cracks, broken this and broken that, windows that stick, a unfinished dirt basement, no screens on most of the windows, no insulation...blah blah blah

Our house has insulation, it's just the type that's blown in after the house is built and over the years it's sunk
There are places where it's less than a foot high
The house is not in its original location, so the basement is better, but it's still unfinished and tends to be about 20° cooler than the rest of the house
Sucks in winter, nice in summer
Some windows have screens, some don't. One has one ripped up from cats
The doors stick in summer, nothing is square

Yep. Oh and our floors are warped and so are our doors so they don't always close right.

Subflooring is required these days
It removes creaking and unevenness, and as a base for things such as in-floor heating

I have no idea if we have that.

Since we don't, it's likely that you won't either
