I think you'll spend your life working earnestly to capture magical criminals and believe that to be your legacy, but the children's story you wrote as a hobby in your off-hours will become super famous and for centuries after you are gone, the children's story is what your name will be associated with.
Even if you probably did save the world a few times from supervillains, no one remembers that when they can focus on the story.
