@Amura, I actually find that whole switching topics thing to be much easier in person, for some reason. In threads/forums I just find the whole thing exhausting, lol

Yeah, it's easier switching topics in person.
It's also easier talking than writing imho.

But there are so many avatar possibilities!

Sometimes I think about what it would be like if the little picture of our avatars next to our forum posts always showed the avatar that was used to make the post; so that when you changed avatars, the new posts would show your current new avatar but your older posts would show your older avatars.

It would make for some interesting threads!

I've thought about that too, for the simple reason that sometimes there are comments in the avatar games that refer to an avi you never even saw, and them I'm like "wat".

But the coding nightmare! xD

Would it actually be harder? Or simpler, because it would take a still, flat, single-time image capture and never change it?
Right now the image has to always change, and isn't that actually harder?

Huh, you make a very good point! So it might be easier in terms of coding, but hosting all of those old images would be a nightmare, no? In terms of cost and the likes.

... we need someone who knows about this stuff to enlighten us, it's too confusing!

Honestly mostly I was thinking about how many different or new forum avatar games we'd end up with, ha ha ha!

Every thread would be like a photo capture booth.

The problem is not the code, but the space it would require.
You would need to store in the website thousands and thousands of pictures for the sole purpose of being seen right by posts which nobody will read again.
That storage would be extremely expensive. Completely unaffordable.

Wait but aren't we storing lots of images right now? And then making them change all the time? How does that work?
