I can agree to that.
You study martial arts and how it connects to the region's culture. Such as sword dances or how a particular school was formed due to the specific traits of the land. You do this because you grew up in such a household, but wasn't understood by your peers so you believe this area of research would help you find those who do understand your upbringing.
