I guess adding a second sorting drop down menu would allow to avoid adding many new buttons (So for example you could open Body Parts section and then sort it so it would display only wings), but yeah - it would mean manually tagging all of the old items.

I think it's a great solution. Rather than puttin grandom colors in packs. It would be easier for users to choose and for you to decide on colors for the packs :)

And about organizing the wardrobe, amalath's idea with drop down menu seems good to me. Of course there would always be the issue of manually tagging the items, no matter what we think of I guess ;/

Anyhow, if you did it that way, or let us choose colors, then I'd be more interested.)

I would really enjoy this idea!
I know, personally, there is at least one or two wigs that I would like in each set.
Separating them by category, (ie dark colors, light/soft colors, bright colors, pastels, primary colors, etc.), or separating it by complimentary colors, such as we see as popular color combinations in this site (ie Maroon/Coffee/Gray White/Midnight Blue, Aqua/Fuchsia/Lilac/Lime Green/Ecru, Gold/Bright Turquoise/Violet, Mocha/Aqua/Ecru/Fuchsia, Plum/Midnight Blue//Gold/Bright Turquoise, etc.), may make the sets more appealing to users. :mcwink:

As for a new organization system in the Wardrobe, I have always wished that you could use the "Sort: By Color" drop down menu in combination with the text search option! :mclove:
So that I could, for example, look for any items with the keyword "horn" in the "Body Parts" tab that are also the color "Coffee".
It would make looking for a particular item, or a particular type of item, much easier, for it would minimize the number of results greatly!
This would be especially useful in the DAC!
I am not sure how difficult that would be to code, though... :mcblush:

I agree with everyone that has said that being able to pick colors would be nice. I like all the ideas so far where there are "themes" or shades of a color since I"m more likely to like colors that are a bit more related?

I do like the idea of the hair packs though since hairs are definitely a really popular item. c: I would personally love wings, but that's just me, lol.

If I'm only looking for hairs in my wardrobe, I just search "hair." All the hair items (aside from wigs in the Cutting Crew) have the word "hair" so this pulls them all up for me. It also pulls us things like "hair clip," but I'm okay with that. Same thing with "eyes" etc.

I was going to suggest a way to tag items my looking through the name but I think writing such an algorithm might be tricky....

Are the tags to items currently listed in a table/database?

Seperating the sets by pastel/ natural/ dark/ etc sounds like a good idea to me, too :)

As for organizing the wardrobe further: maybe make it possible to select an avatar-layer to work on, and the wardrobe only displays the items that appear on that layer? Since all the items are already linked with a specific layer, you possibly wouldn't have to re-categorize them that way?
So, like, you search for aqua items in the search bar, and select the hair layer, and you get all the aqua wigs. And you'd know right away if the tiara you want to equip replaces the horn you're wearing or not.

Though it would probably be more convenient to have all "hair" including hair extensions in one spot ... then again, we have a lot of items that can't be sorted into a few major subcategories quite as easily as hair, so subcategories might be too difficult an idea to implement anyway.

I don't know anything about coding and how much work any of this would be, so just my 2 cents ^^"

I love the hair packs!! :qh:

I also agree on having them in groups like pastel, darks, brights, natural, etc. I use mainly pastel and dark colors in my avatars, but we could always trade colors. That might enliven the trading threads somewhat.

There are several hundret layers on KOfK avatar's. :mcheh: I don't think that would work well. :qhehe:
But maybe, if we want to continue the discussion of wardrobe organizsation, we should move it to the feedback forum. It's getting rather off-topic here and maybe other people have suggestions too, but don't read it here, as it's not the place where you would expect dicussions about the wardrobe. :qhehe:

oh i am kinda not sure about it..
first i thought "huch? whats this?" then second thoought was like "oh yeah!*-*" and now i think "oh damn" because i figured,of all 5 hair colors.. my taste is so difficult to please..
Not just the fact that i mostly prefer different colors for the items,..also the problem that the colors i would like are totally messed up lol

example i like hair :
Set A 1+3+5
Set B 3+5
Set C 2+4
Set D 2+4

......i would have prefered if the packages would have been sorted by colors a like.
For example:
Set A blue
(Blue Iris, Light Blue, Periwinkle, Ice Blue, Azure Blue)

Set B red
(Crimson, Red, Burgundy, Maroon , Claret)

Set C Pink,Set D Yellow, ect.
Something like this would have been much more to my taste.
This way also people, who prefer some colors much mroe than others, would be able to choose one set which has more than just 1 color they would most likly use someday..
If it would be like this, this idea would get my "Hell definally yess!!!" 5 times lol

It would be nice if we could try the hairs on. It always take so long to get items into the DAC it feels like, that I'm hesitant to buy until I can get a good look of the individual items of a set.
