I don't think that's the word I'd use, but yes, some recent items have a shading that looks a bit shiny-glossy.

And I guess that's good for the market, because even rich members (over 300k in pure!) may need to save up again or probably sell some other cheaper items... which become avaliable to all of us.
For example I'm selling my commons to keep bidding on auctions ^^
