When I'm around friends! XD I'm actually shy and quiet, and this is serious!! I've been on this site for almost two years, I already feel at home and can't be shy here anymore. XD
Well, sometimes.
The internet gives me the freedom to talk with people without having to... I don't know, having to pay attention to my body language, or to choose the correct words... On forums I can think more, there's backspace, and I can edit my posts if necessary.
In real life it takes a lot of time for me to let someone be close to me, to talk with him/her like I do now. My feelings are born slowly and they disappear slowly as well and if someone decides to simply walk away, it'll hurt for years. People often do this and I don't want to let it happen all the time. So I choose being quiet and observing people first...

I know what you mean too!
I've had quite a lot of negative experiences with Real Life People. So I've had some time where I decided to barely talk to people...
The internet sometimes just seems a bit friendlier, and as you said, there's backspace and you can (often) edit things you said.
Real life should have a backspace sometimes...
