How do the lost items work, do you only get them limited time or are they random on what one you get?

The same item is avaliable to everybody during a short period (maybe 48 or 72 hours, not sure).
It's not random, and either you get it or you miss it.

now lets see if i can keep up this positiveness while my mom and sister have covid. QnQ

my sister comes home, sick, after going to a (probably MASKLESS) party in the city, doesn't self isolate and lies around in close proximity with my parents....with my mom's already weakened system, its no wonder she was the second to get sick.........AND get COVID. QnQ

Hotarla - OMG I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Chris and I are still being super careful. Annoying family a lot.
Chris is type 1 diabetic so we are not messing around.

my mom has high blood pressure. which is why i'm bitter and just more than a bit mad at how inconsiderate my sister was. she comes home after her party, possibly sick, and still decides that she would rather sleep on the small cot/bed in my parents room because its the only room with AC. she could've taken out the pull out bed in the living room sofa and slept downstairs away from everyone. but no, she decides to sleep in a small room with 2 other people and get her germs everywhere.
