Yeah, it is!

Very shy so far.
It's been sleeping most of the time.
Doesn't mind we put our hands in the tank, would smell them, but that's about all the interaction he's interested in right now.

I suppose it may take a bunch of days before it gets used to us.

As long as its not biting. I remember the hamsters used to bite sometimes and you might think its just a little nip but it can really hurt sometimes lol.

Gerbils are more social than hamsters, they usually bit less.
And this one definetely is not.
I just hope it's not too scared, poor little one, so many changes in a few days.

I’m sure it will take some time for it to get used to its new surroundings.
And its great to hear that gerbils don’t bite as much.

Yes, that's what I've read.

Still we are super excited about it, and we would love to hold it or let it run in the bedroom, but it's a bit too soon for that.
It's kinda hard to hold a child and tell him to wait - it's even hard for me!

lol I remember I had a previous coworker, her family owned a hamster too and they named it cappuccino. XD I thought that was cute, because we’ve never really named our pets lol.

That's such a cute name!
And also very unisex.


My son has a plushie he named "Chocolate". He used to sleep with it.
Once, while we were staying at my parents for a weekend, he could not find it.
"Awww, I've lost my Chocolate!"
We were trying to find it, cause we had to pack to go back home.

And so my mom brought him a whole chocolate bar.
"Here, sweetie, have your chocolate"
"No, not THIS, my Chocolate!!!"

Yup! Apparently it was named that because of its colour. Which when I saw the pics, was very apt.

I don’t name things because chances are I’ll forget them lol. I know some people name like everything though lol.
