Well, for some people gifts are not that important. I don't care much about them either.
I don't buy anything for my husband for Xmas or Valentine's day - nor him for me. Only birthdays. And some years we've bought really silly gifts.
Today I was telling my son about that time I bought my husband a plain rolling pin for his birthday. And he does not bake!
That was an on-going joke, about me baking pizzas for him (cause he loves them) so I guess the gift was almost a promise of a future full of homemade pizzas xD
I think what matters is that you think about something that has a meaning, something special that shows your bond, even if it's not worth much - or nothing at all.

But he buys me stuff for my birthday 8u
I can't just accept gifts and then not give him anything xD
He tells me not to get him anything for Christmas either uB<
I remember when I dropped out of school and became a shut-in.
Since I didn't get to see my friends anymore, when I got to see my one bestie, he gave me a cracker at some point.
Well, I kept the cracker sitting on my dresser for the longest time.
My grandpa was like "Why is there a cracker just sitting here 8U -throws it away-"
I was like "NO HOW COULD YOU MY FRIEND GAVE ME THAT u,B" and my grandpa said he was sorry.

Maybe he just does not want you to worry about buying him stuff?
A cracker.
Doesn't that get bad?
I hope my son never keeps food as mementos. I might eat them.

Yeah, he doesn't want us to get him anything.
However, he does love food so I talked my mom into maybe making his favorite food 8u
Yeah, it was bad to keep food lying out but it's all I had of my bestie xD

My gift is done. :)
pic pic
I made a tee for myself out of this fabric and the leftover was just enough for the tiny cardigan. Baby was born September 3rd, so I guesstimate she'll be able to wear it next year in spring. Hope they like it. :D
Now there's really very little leftover of my 1,5m of fabric. Maybe I can still squeeze out a baby headband...
But as for gift giving, maybe you can give time? Like, doing something together? Drawing him something? Like, something personal?

Making his fave food sounds great. (I'm a food lover, so I know I would like that sort of thing.)
And maybe decorating the table so it looks special
Wow, Jolien!
It looks so cute!

Jolien: I like the colors u8888
I need to spend more time with him.
I know he doesn't sleep good and he only gets one day off, so I want him to sleep and relax.
We're supposed to go somewhere together this weekend, but it's more of a therapy session.
Last time, they cancelled >Bu
Amura: I am also a food lover and would love food as a present u8
A family friend sent my sister this fruit bouquet last year with all kinds of fruit dipped in chocolate.
It was so good >~>

Fruits and chocolate are an awesome combo.
Specially strawberries. Or maybe oranges. Anything with a subtle hint of tartness too.
Oh, well, chocolate goes well with everything xD

There was pineapple and green apples covered in chocolate.
I was like "Ew that sounds gross u8" but they were really good.
The only issue I had was the white chocolate on the pineapple.
I don't think they went well together because the white chocolate was too sweet and so it masked the tartness of the pineapple.
The milk chocolate complimented the tartness so it tasted better.
What I found tasted really good was at this buffet - they had white chocolate fountains and I dipped strawberries in white chocolate because I'd never had that.
It was SO good .__.

Oh my, that so sounds so good!
Almost sinful!
But I should not dream of it.
Today I ate a bit too much of sugary stuff and now I'm feeling very poorly v_v
