That's good. It took me a long time to figure myself out. XD Other cultures are fascinating. *nods* I've always been interested in how and why people do the things they do, especially ancient peoples. It does make for great inspiration. *nods* I was working on a book that was lightly inspired by the Bible but I haven't worked on it in quite a while. I need to finish it.

I doubt it will eat your brain. XD That's funny. XD I know there are strategies to it but my memory isn't the best and I can't think several moves ahead like the good players can. I can only deal with what I'm doing in the moment. XD Awww, that's nice that it's bringing back memories for you.

Haha, yeah, when you think about it, he's tough, but he's also stubborn like a bull and he hates doctors and on top of that he really likes conspiracy theories (maybe a tiny bit too muchfor my taste ). But I was pissed he never called me that he'd hurt himself that bad. Another time he just passed out in his room and hit his head on the corner of an open drawer. You can imagine there was blood, a lot of it. And what? He didn't call a doctor or ambulance or anything. I told him he could have concussion or something, even worse,because he felt alright before he blacked out, so maybe there's something that caused it and I told him to go check it out in a hospital. And he said he won't call anyone or go to any hospitals because they'll test him for covid and he ain't taking that shit...

My book has elements that were inspired by the Bible. But also other religions and cultures :) I haven't work on it for too long as well

Yeah, I definitely am not a pro chess player either. I can think of two-three moves ahead and I have no idea about what Ash mumbles about during the game xD I just go with the flow and that usually end in me losing unless there's a rare occassion that Ash doesn't feel too well or is distracted.
I usually don't want to lose any pawns or figures so often it gets me in trouble and then I suddenly lose everything one by one Or I play bold and offensive and suddenly I'm not concentrated anymore and start making stupid mistakes.
Yes, it's nice. Last I talked with granny about grandpa she told me he had some winning title in chess, but I'm not sure what it was. Anyway, he definitely liked chess a lot and wanted to a partner to play with, so he taught first her, then my mom, then my sister and I. But he was an absolute pro, I'd always lose to him. And whenever I won, I can tell for sure he just let me I miss him a lot and I'm getting nostalgic

It sounds like you're better at chess than I am. That doesn't take much though. XD Awww, your grandpa sounds like he was a really good one. Unfortunately, I missed out on having super great grandparents. My mom used to pity me when we played games. It made me so mad! XD

They do have some things in common But it's not funny anymore when my dad starts political topics and goes on rage rants over the phone and there's no way you could interrupt him to say "I gotta go, you've been trashing the government, Jews and gays for an hour already" XD I can't even argue with him because it'll trigger him into even bigger rage and I'm scared about his heart and blood pressure

I haven't written a word in ages and I feel guilty about it/ My excuse for not writing was that I'll be working my ass off by building my business and such, meanwhile Iprocrastinate at that as well because I'm afraid of failing. So I end up doing nothing After too long you feel like you can't write anymore because allyour sentences are crooked and you want to be a poet right away XD At least that's my issue. I mean, I prefer prose, but you get me xD I thought about going back to at least doing writing exercises to warm up and not lose the skill too much but it ended on thinking only and not acting on it...

Haha, yeah, my grandpa was pretty great. I wasn't ready to lose him as early as I did. But at least I have good memories to look back at. And I'm sure he's watching over me.

Oh my goodness. I'm sorry you're in that position. My brother is like that but I don't have to worry about him having a heart attack. We just don't argue with him very often because it won't do any good.

I feel guilty too. I finished two children's books but I can't find anyone to publish them. By the time I started my novel I kind of lost heart. At least you can write prose. My brain doesn't work like that. We shouldn't give up even if it takes us forever though.

I'm sure he is too. No, I just wanted to be able to beat her on my own. XD I kept telling her not to pity me and she wouldn't stop so I got mad. XD

It's such a lovely day! I should be outside enjoying it but I'm on the computer instead. How is your weather?

Can't do much about it But once or twice I told him he's going about these things in circles and it's not nice just listening to it on and on and I noticed since then he's been more mindful of it. He stops himself before he goes off and either laughs it off or just says he's "too lazy to rant about it again and besides I've heard it so he won't be repeating himself". And I really appreciate that. Overall I feel like our relationship is improving, which is nice. Just sometimes I can't figure him out.

Publishers have many reasons to either not read the pitch or forget about it, or decline even though they think the book is good. But even so, don't give up. Try again in the same ones after a few months or so, there might be an opening. There's also self-publishing that's growing in popularity.
Yeah, let's not give up. I'll start acting soon, hopefully. Tiny baby steps etc.

The weather here is kind of gray, cold and windy. Some days it's sunshine but it's supposed to get colder again for a week or two, I think. I hate that it's been so windy lately

Sure, self-pub isn't for everyone, it's pretty difficult. It depends on what you want, if you rather have a publisher, then just don't give up on pitching You can also try revising the pitch when you decide it's time to try again.

I'm actually afraid of strong winds. I've always been petite and when I was a kid and we'd get strong winds, they would often push me around or even lift me a bit... So I just don't feel safe when it's this windy Besides I have this irrational fear that something like a tree branch or anything metal will fly into me (outside) or in my window (when I'm home) and it will kill me A couple years ago I was walking to a bus stop to get to work and this metal roof flew off a nearby farmer's market and had I walked a little slower, it would've hit me and dog knows what would have happened to me. So it didn't help my fears at all And besides all the irrational stuff and accidents, such strong winds give you a headache
I think we are, we're both on the northern side of the globe, so spring is coming for us XD
