Not really, that's how kofk's ads work (I assume since that's how other forum sites work). Forum websites, online shopping websites, blogs, whatever, allow companies to place ads on their websites. Every click of the ad, the ad company pays the host website as a sort of, thank you for advertising sorta thing. That's how bloggers made all their money before Patreon was invented.

The "people" who post in forums are a little different and are rarely actual people. Generally they are info gathering bots, testing areas of the web for advertising purposes. *shrugs*

I've always thought that from the google ads that just having them kofk would get a small amount, and if someone clicks them they get a little bonus

I know with google that they get paid when people click the ads, but I think they also get a base pay for just having them on the site.

That too, otherwise there would be little point in having them as users usually hate them and have adblock. Photobucket practically spams you with PLEASE DON'T BLOCK OUR ADS PLEEEEASE when you visit it now. I hate that site now because of it x.x

I don't block ads. Especially on here.

I do block popups though because I dislike those.
