mem-Sorry it took me so long to respond. Life is crazy! :mcsweat:

No, I guess it couldn't. XD Well, no I don't think it's blasphemous but I do recommend reading it. There's a lot more to it than the movie showed. XD The OT is fascinating and there are actually a lot of stories. I recommend the books of Ruth, Esther, and I & II Kings. Unfortunately, a good portion of it is pretty boring. :qoops: But it's still worth the read and very important. It helps us see what God wants from us and shows His personality, for lack of a better word. XD You're right, the NT is more important in the sense that most of the rules in the OT we don't have to follow anymore because Jesus came. We still can't commit murder or anything though. XD At least we don't have to worry about what we eat. I wouldn't like that. I hate to say it, but the Bible wasn't written very well in my opinion and the fact that it isn't completely in linear fashion drives me nuts. :qoops: At least compared to modern books. But it has its charm and I'll be studying it the rest of my life so I better learn to enjoy it. XD

That could be. *nods* I mean, part of being highly sensitive is getting overwhelmed. A lighter read never hurts. :qg:

Yeah, it's hard to come up with new material I guess. And there are only so many possibilities. XD I do the same thing. I find typos all the time. I'm like, Who edited this thing? XD

Hi, kenma! :qg: I'm doing good. I hope you're well. :mccute:

And vice versa, lol :mcargh: I read your post a lifetime ago and just forgot to reply :mcsweat: Also, yes, life is crazy lately.
I still kind of don't understand the whole "we have new rules now, because Jesus". I guess it's just not my vibe. I was never able to understand it and I don't even search for the answers anymore. I'm just curious about religions and since I used to be catholic I thought I should read that first before going to other religions like judaism or islam :mclaugh: And I could never understand many things in that religion anyways, not only related to Jesus.
Haha, non-linear is annoying sometimes, that's true. Plus the language used in the Bible is kind of hard to understand, but the more they improve it to match modern speech standards, the more it might lose the initial meaning. And a lot of things were probably completely lost in translation throughout the centuries...

I ended up not reading at allfor another week :mcargh: Idk, there's always something I want to do more than to read. Perhaps I'm just too scattered right now.

Yeah, but sometimes (or even often) it's not the editor's fault, but the author just didn't agree to their suggestions. I've had that happen, I was so pissed and ashamed of that article that I refuse to count it into my editing experience. The author went with one or two suggestions of mine and that's basically it. It was full of errors and inconcistencies, and I felt like crying after reading the final version :qhehe:
That, or the publisher hired mor ethan one person to edit one text and they never had the chance to make things consistent. Or the deadline was very short, so the editor just omitted some errors unintentionally (or on purpose, who knows xD).
Stuff happens in the publishing and editors get the worst hate for "not editing right" when often it's out of their control. But there's also plenty of people who just suckat editing XD

No problem. :qg: Yes it is. My aunt wound up in the hospital this week and everything, including my schedule, just fell apart. She's ok now thankfully.

Oh, well that's because humans just couldn't be good. XD Jesus was needed as the ultimate sacrifice to save us from our sinful selves. XD It is all rather complicated. *nods in agreement* Things always get lost in translation. Have you ever seen some of the funny memes of signs regarding that? They always crack me up.

Could be. I'm sure you'll find a better time. I didn't even try to read this week except for my daily reading of the Bible. I didn't even have much time for Kofk and my other sites. :qsob:

Oh, I can see how that would happen. I'm sorry that happened to you. But the publisher shouldn't have to publish it if the editor complains right? I mean, I would hope not otherwise some complete rubbish might be published if the author won't listen to the editor. Probably. XD But I'm sure you're right and most of it is out of their control. I never thought of that but I've done enough jobs that I should have known better. There are always unforseen circumstances that someone who has never done that job wouldn't know.

Oh, wow, what happened that she was in a hospital, if you don't mind telling?

I don't fully agree with that, as well as with the 10 Commandments :D Or the idea of hell. Overall, I disagree with most of christianity. Things just don't add up with all that "Jesus saved us from ourselves" narrative. But to be fair, I disagree with many other religions as well :)
Oh yeah, lost in translation signs are great XD

My problem is I actually have time but I usually choose other activities, mostly brainless ones XD Although lately I've been asking Ash to play chess together and it's fun even though I mostly just lose anyways.

Well, I didn't have any contact with the publisher/magazine or the auther herself, and so it was hard to communicate. It was one article I was editing as my apprenticeship but it wasn't very well organized. I had no chance to see the final version they would publish until it was already published,so my name is hanging in there and I'm like... I would've told them to erase my name if I had known that article would end up looking like this. :mcmeh:
It depends on various different aspects as to who has the power of the final decision. I'm guessing either it was the author or the publisher who didn't care or didn't see/check what they got, or perhaps the publisher sent the wrong file although there were some changes done so it seems that wasn't the case... Idk. I'm still salty about that article XD

I don't mind at all. She thought she had the stomach flu over the weekend but she got sicker and we didn't even know it until we called Monday to talk to her and she was in the hospital. O.O My thoughtful cousins didn't even think to call us. :/ Anyway, she had kidney stones back up to her liver and get infected and she was starting to get septic. They caught it in time but it was very critical for most of Monday and she nearly died. They hurried up and put the scope down her throat and cleared the blockage and infection the best they could but she wound up in the ICU. Her blood pressure was through the roof and her body wasn't doing well so they put her on a ventilator so her body could calm down and not have to worry about breathing. It was very unexpected and scary. :qsweat: Thankfully, she's back home and on the mend now.

I understand. I've had my doubts over the years too, that's normal for most people. My mom is the only person that I know that's never had any doubts, as far as I know anyway. But she's too trusting of everything/people, not just religion. I'm sure you'll eventually figure out what's right for you. :qg: :qh: I remember this sign at an Asian grocery store I used to go to. It was trying to tell people not to wash their hands in the fishtanks but the way it was written sounded almost like they wanted people to wash their hands in them. XD I wish I could remember exactly what it said.

Me too, although I realized that I lied to you on accident. :qoops: I have been reading some National Geographics if that counts. XD I think I strained my brain so much years ago that I prefer mindless activities now. I hope I don't end up stupid. XD Oh chess! My dad has been wanting to play but I told him no. Neither one of us is good at it and the games last for hours. XD It's torture. I'm glad you're enjoying playing with Ash though. :qg:

Oh I see. That's not fair to you. :qsob: I don't blame you for being salty. I would be too. It's your reputation on the line.

Dear dog, that's scary! :mcomg: I'm glad they still caught it in time to still be able to help her. And wow, those cousins! :mcmeh: Maybe they didn't want to worry you? I mean, once I called my dad just to see how he's doing and he was like "oh, you know, I cracked a rib by bending down and then I caughed and had a minor heart attack but I didn't bother going to the hospital because doctors are puppets fo the government, no biggie" :mcsweat: I'm only exaggerating a little bit xD

I think I've already figured it out for myself :mccute: I'm still curious about other religions though, it's culture and it's fascinating to me. They also make great inspiration for fantasy writers like myself. :)
I like the ones in menus, they're the funniest, unfortunately I can't even bring up one from my memory :mclol:

Haha, I guess it counts? XD Idk, I read a lot of random stuff, some really idiotic articles. I'm afraid it eats my braincells out but oh well :mcheh: Short articles are easier than a whole book...
Chess can get a little lengthy but it's possible to play it very fast when both players know some theory behind the moves. More prominent players play from memory, actually. I have no idea about this stuff but Ash is sort of passionate about that lately so he's studying different moves, defence/ofence techniques, openings etc. When we start a game he's always like "hmm, should I start with the London or the Orangutan opening?" and I'm like, "Just play already XD", and then we make some moves and he'll talk about some Netherlands defence or such XD
I enjoy chess quite a lot, my grandpa taught me to play when I was a young kid, so now playing it awakens all the precious memories.

Well, to be fair, I'm a total rookie and there's no reputation to begin with XD But I'd much rather start my practice on a positive note and not botched articles. The good thing is that my name isn't linked directly to that article, so it's just among the names of all the other editors that worked on that issue of the magazine. Hopefully no one will ever ask me which article was mine. :mcsweat:
