Oh, great that he found a better paying job! Does he like it there? :)
Moving closer sounds like a good idea. But an hour is doable for a while, so you guys can take a bit of time to find something that really suits you, which is great :) I'm holding my thumbs for you finding something you love!

We're looking at moving soon too. It's tough though because we currently own a 2 bed apartment, and we want to get a 3-4 bed home, so we will have to move to a different town. We're right on the commuter line for London here so prices get pushed higher. It's annoying because I also need to commute XD but if we go to somewhere where I maybe have to change trains halfway through the journey, it will be a little inconvenient in exchange for being able to afford a bigger home. That way we can start to plan our family. So I have to make the sacrifice XD

Do you know Japanese Popodoki? I am using google translate to look at the site.
We want a home with 2-3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. No stairs. I can't do stairs.
So further from the city is less expensive yet?
Maybe she's trying to make you believe it so it happens.
