Kingdom of Knuffel

i remember that i once went to a bar. just that once. it had like lots of loud af music. i didn't drink, didn't do anything, just kinda sat in a corner. i felt sick and got a headache and wanted to barf. lol

so yeah. not good with that. lol

Man, my sensory issues can't even handle the new movie theatre they built a few years ago. Has heated seats that recline, lots of snacks, serves alcohol, nice and spacious aisles, for the first time in years I actually want to go to the movies! But the person who installed the speaker system must have been a 112-year-old world pirate actor who spent their entire career firing canons. Even with earplugs I get migraines because of how it rattles my bones and overpowers the earplugs. My husband is a big metalhead and loves concerts, and while I'd love to go with him to support and share in something he's passionate about, we've about accepted that I'm best suited as a designated driver when he and his buddies want to go jam. I suppose that's an acceptable alternative. We go to Waffle House or Huddle House afterward for a late night snack and I get to listen to them gush and fanboy. Their last concert was Judas Priest.

Speaking of metal, huuuu boy, Dan Vasc is my playlist today. Today's top hits include Sound of Silence, Africa, Scarborough Fair, and of course my first introduction to him, I'll Make a Man Out of You.

i haven't gone to a movie theatre in.......years. i guess. i think the last movie i watched was Top Gun 2. bc my sister got a discount on tickets, i think they were like buy one get one free.

i've never listened to metal.

I think my last movie was... either Voyage of the Demeter or when they played the original Mummy with Brendan Fraser for Halloween.

I prefer power and symphonic metal since they are more likely to have classically trained or operatic vocals. I think that's also why I like Adele more than a lot of pop singers I've heard in a while, she kind of carries her voice similarly.

I like listening to traditional instruments. These days, it’s all poppy, rappy music and tbh I find it kinda grating. So I like to listen to instrumentals with guqins and erhus and dizis. Lol

Metal, alternative, and folk are my top three genres. Shortly followed by related genres like those meditative and ambient soundtracks all over YouTube.

I wish folk instruments were more prevalent in music these days. One thing that sticks out to me about 80s rock is that they had no qualms with breaking out a saxophone, harmonica, or flute. Annnd then there's folk metal. The Hu blended Mongolian throat singing and the horsehead fiddle / morin khuur well into their work, and then along comes Bloodywood with a mix of metal, rap, alternative, traditional Indian drum, bamboo flute, Hindi, Punjabi, and English. Like, all in one song. And it works. o_o

The internet has a lot of faults, but bless it for how the overall artistic world has blossomed because of it.

Sounds interesting. Never really listened to that myself. I either go traditional or I listen to oldies. I used to sleepwalk when I was younger so music was prescribed to me by my fam doctor. I got a stereo and my mom gave me all her old cassette tapes that she recorded all her fave songs from the radio. I like oldies music, at least lyrics were still a thing lol. XD
